This is my 3rd stay at OKW. First 2 stays no complaints, I'm here at OKW now, checked into a 2 bdr on Sat 2/9/08. Had no internet connection. Called it in on Saturday just got it fixed today, 2/12/08 really bad, had to call multiple times. Other calls for service so far, Hair dryer in Master bath didn't work, called it in was fixed within 15 min, Fantastic. Unit didn't have a a DVD player, went to community hall to rent a DVD. I told the girl there about no player and she called it in to report it. I returned to my room and maintenance was there installing a new one, fantasic. Sleeper sofa is bent takes 3 people to open it. When it's folded up it sits at an angle. One end is lower then the other. Called it in, still no response on that one. Went to make up the sofa, we had no linens, blankets or pillows for it. Had to call housekeeping for it. Took them 45 min to bring us linens. Bad when your tired and ready for bed. So you might want to check the sofa for linens if you plan to use it when you check in, so you aren't waiting a long time for it. Other things I noticed about this Room. In case you are wondering I am in bldg 20 on Millers road. Blinds are in bad shape, very hard to open and close. Sink in master bedroom very loose and moves around, hope it doesn't fall off the wall. Called it in but no one has come and looked at it yet.
The dining chairs are really loose and move around. This is just my opinion, but I really think this room should be completely redone.

On another note: not OKW issue but Disney Magical Express. Our flight arrived at 1:35 pm Luggage didn't arrive until 9:30 PM. I think this is way to long to have to wait for luggage.

We are having a great time here is WDW just wish I didn't have to make so many repair calls. This is not what I expect from Disney. I just can't believe all these things went on the blink when I checked in.

I'm sorry you're having so many issues with room maintenance. It is amazing how poorly some people will treat a room. I mean, bending the frame on the sleeper sofa, and pulling the sink away from the wall is NOT normal wear and tear, it is deliberate abuse. :sad2:

I wish housekeeping would report these things so 1) they can be fixed and 2) the responsible party can be charged.

Thanks Chuck, I totally agree with you. Some of these things are definitly abuse issues. I know this isn't the norm, but thought it was strange that this room had so many issues.:sad2:

I'm sorry about all the problems, but I especially sympathize with you about the lack of bed linnens. The same thing happened to us in Building #15. Didn't notice until it was bed time that we had no linens. It also took at least 45 minutes and multiple calls to get them. And like you, we learned a lesson for next time-check immediately for bed linens, don't wait until bedtime.

the airlines are quick to blame DME - but most of the times it is the airlines problem.

DME uses computer scan for everything and kepts up pretty well. but if they hadn't got it - they hadn't got it.

the airlines will lie and say they have send it to DME. this is generally the problem.

of course once back in the old days when we had to get out luggage - it was Orlando - they send the luggage to the wrong area - then had to go find it and put it in the right area =- never again let DME take and wait for the luggage.

DME works well - the yellow tag will go to Disney not to the baggage area - so if gets to Orlando DME will get it.

so sorry about your maintence issue - learn the hard way - go test everything - make a list then call maintence.

how could anyone do that to the bathroom sink - what do they do - stand on it or something????:scared1:

you are asking more from the maids than their job description. their job description says clean the room - since they have a lot of rooms to clean in a minimum amount of time. they can't do maintence problems. Heck their schedules hardily leave them time to the cleaning.

We had similar problems with our first stay at OKW over 10 years ago. Chipped tiles, broken slats in the blinds, stains on the couch and love seat, and loose screws in about every chair in the room. I finally made DH get a screwdriver out of the car. We sure wondered what we had gotten ourselves into. But 10 years later we just laugh about it. We have never had a room like that since at any DVC resort. And we have stayed at OKW many times since. Actually, OKW is my favorite resort.
