Just thought I would post for anyone interested. Went to MK yesterday and got to park by 7:30. We go every February this time, end of the month. Last two years MK was crazy packed due to Mardi gras and Daytona respectively so I was hoping yesterday would have been a bit better. Thank goodness we did rope drop. 2nd in line at HM, then did Splash with no wait, Magic Carpets, tree house, Pirates said 40 min wait but we were on the ride within 15 minutes. Then backtracked for FP on 7 dwarves which DD age 6 Loved and wanted to go on again but you guessed it huge lines there for the rest of the day. We had an 11:50 at CRT and every ride, even tea.cups, were 35 plus minute wait times and we didn't have enough time before lunch to fit another ride in. After lunch DD wanted face painted so went to Tomorrowland. I had 2 more FP booked for later in the afternoon with no plans to see parade, Under the Sea and HM again because that is DD's favorite. By 1 it was in the 80s and, being from VT, it was a shock to the system..my DD's eczema started flaring up and I came down with a migraine. We had been drinking water all day and had hats and sun screen. Walked to HM to see if the wait was bearable and it was up to 45 minutes. This and the crowds and sun, we couldn't make it any longer. Sadly, left the park for the pool. I had visions of us chilling at Tom Sawyers island by 3 after Fps but alas did not happen. Thank goodness we did rope drop. As others have noted, there are no down days at MK anymore! I might have made it a bit longer if headache hadn't hit but it was awfully nice to get back to SSR and swim. When DD is older I look forward to evenings at MK with hopefully shorter wait times!

Sorry your day didn’t go exactly as expected but sounds like you made amazing use of rope drop!! Glad you got to hit the favorites before calling it a day :)

Yes. Definitely no regrets! I look forward to traveling with DD and my folks. My dad is a huge Disney fan. My DH is over MK but will go with us to Epcot Sunday, his preferred park. It is also easier when there are other adults with you.
