Does anyone know how much for a toddler's haircut? I usually cut our ds's hair myself, but I thought it might be cute to get his first real haircut at Disney and get some cute pictures.

its around 12.00 i think :)

Sounds like a great place to get that first real haircut!

$12.00 sounds about right. We had a wonderful experience with DS's first haircut in April. I couldn't recommend it more. We paid $16 for DS's second haircut at Kidsnips around here. I wonder how much it costs at Disney for a 2nd (or 3rd etc. haircut).

This is from AllEars.

Cost for a haircut is $17 for adults and $14 for children 12 and under. Colored hair gel, $5. Beard and mustache trims are $10.

I believe if you get the cut, it includes the gel. It did for ds last summer.

Well we just got back and had DS's(18 mths) first haircut there. It was great. It was $14 we were lucky enough to get Michal! LOVE HIM! He gave my ds the cutest haircut and kept him busy with the stickers. Then he got a pair of Mickey ears that were embroidered with "My first haircut" on them(so cute!) He got a certificate and his first hair was saved along with his first mickey glitter in a little tissue paper. All so very very cute!

Anyone ever done the hair gel stuff for DD's? If so how was it? Do you need an appt.? I think this would be cool for color for the day. Thanks.

We got it for ds and it was first come first serve. HE had it done with his haircut. The gel gets really hard and it takes a bit to wash it out. I think he could have poked an eye out with the spikes in his hair. :lmao:

This is what it looked like on top.

Can you tell me where you get the haircuts? My DD's (2 that are 7 and 1 that is 5) have NEVER had their hair cut. This might be a neat way to entice them to finally cut off some of that REALLY LONG hair!! :woohoo:

The Harmony Barber Shop is located to the left as you enter MK from underneath the Train Station. It is near where the trolley cars enter Main Street (I think).

There are other spots around the world as well. Mostly at the resorts I think and they are more in the style of salons not barbershops.

Thanks for the great info! Sounds like fun. I think I'll pass on the spike gel though. So the mickey ears are included in the price, or they are extra?

I've thought about doing this for ds when we go in January. He will be 16 months old then and he doesn't have very much hair now at 10 months. We are doing the Disney cruise before WDW so I'm afraid that if he really needs a haircut by then that my cruise pics will all look so bad because he needs a haircut. My dd didn't have her first haircut until 18 months but it's easier to pull a girl's hair back. Guess I'll just wait and see.

For the first haircut they were included in the $14 price- we ended up tipping heavily because... well we just love Michal and my grandpa was a barber so it brings me back.....

I'm hoping that ds will be able to hold off until October for his 1st haircut. He'll be 14 months. I couldn't have waited that long with my other boys. I figure that will be the best place for a 1st haircut (and will be something totally unique for him, since none of his siblings have gotten a haircut at WDW). I get excited hearing about what a special place this is and what a great job they do.

That was our problem. DS was 14 mos old as well. His hair was really growing over his ears. I somewhat cringe at photos of him for the month of so before his haircut. I did actually take scissors out and cut some of the hair in back myself. It was just getting way too long. I am glad we waited to make it his "official" first haircut though. It was alot of fun. We weren't sure how DS would react. He is pretty hesitant with strangers and strange settings. Our stylist (Penny?) was great and really knew what she was doing.

how busy does this place get during the day? we will be there the last weekend in September. Am torn as to whether to do that first thing or run to Dumbo (i hate standing in line for an hour, even for Dumbo!). this would be so neat for my 18 month old daughter!

Just had our DD3 first haircut last week at Harmony Barbershop - it was awesome! She only charged us $13.00 - certificate, ears and cut. DD loved it!

I'm so excited to do this. DS will be just about 2 when we're planning to go.

I could just trim his hair a little if it gets too long around his ears and have his 1st official haircut be in WDW. HOw neat is that!!

Is The Harmony Shop the only one that gives out the certificate and ears? Is it the best one for a little boy? Thanks for the info.
