At least summer is upon us!!!!!!!!

Ok, I'll admit it.........I'm a frustrated teacher............Summer is just around the corner.........My fam will be going to the Magic and Disney this summer........BUT.......IN THE MEANTIME........ thx to all for the trip reports and updates...............YOU HAVE MADE OUR SANITY.......

I feel your pain too. I only have five days left in school. I can't wait, and I can't imagine what the teachers are feeling. what grade do you teach? I am a freshman. but this last week will be the hardest because of finals, the dreaded tests. But all I know, five days and then three entire months of freedom!!!! Stick with it and think that it is almost over!!!!

Lucky you! My last day is June 20th.....I teach 6th grade.

Our DD also gets out June 20th, we can't wait for this school year to end, 7th grade has been the most difficult year for our DD and us, we truly need a "MAGICal" vacation this summer!!!

Michael's last day is May 23 - They go back to school August 12!

Along with his weekly piano lessons, he starts horseback riding lessons on 5/19 and swimming lessons on 6/2! Seems like it will be a busy and fun filled summer for us!

I remember school ending in late June and starting the day after Labor Day when I was a kid. But that was decades ago and it was NYS.

I teach preschool and our last day is not until JUNE 24th!
DS (10) is in forth grade and he gets out on June 23rd.. it is because of the tons of snow we had this year...I HATE SNOW

Actually, BD - it really wasn't New York then. It belonged to the Iroquois Nation - by the way, my Indian name is "sits on butt eating shrimp"! But you can call me "Princess"!

Sry Ann! Just alittle more than me! We had snow and a teacher's strike so our year will NEVER end this year!!!!! Unfortunately, the kids are alittle tired and we have a long way to go yet (5 weeks)

I forgot, everyone back east gets out really late. but you start late too. we start up again august 13th. and you start at the end of august. see, it gets so hot here that we have to end early. today it was in the 100's. too hot too fast. and believe me, it will get hotter. but, it's a dry heat

I'm an assistant principal in an elementary school, and our last day is Saturday, May 24. I'm taking 7 days of personal time to go to WDW and on the Wonder. It has been a long...difficult year. Also, this is my first summer in years not to be either an administrator or teacher in our district's summer school. I need the break. I'm counting the days....want to post daily just to see my countdown.

First of all, thank you for your career choice! We need more teachers and education administrators! Hard work, low wages but hopefully, many untangible rewards!

Secondly, I really hope you will enjoy your DCL vacation. There is a special magic in being on the ship that I hope you will find and keep forever in your heart.

Hey txadmin! I hear you! Lately, it's been getting more and more challenging in the education field.

I love the kids and I love seeing the growth and development each day. But it's tough when people don't see or respect our judgement.

Perhaps, we should "jump ship" and move to Florida. I am planning on working at Disney in retirement. With all the people skills I've developed over the years, it should be a great ending to my education career!

...you could be ME! I teach college and my last day was about a week ago, BUT I also start all over again this Tuesday the 20th during summer session! I don't get a break! AND to top it all off, I have to wait over 200 days for another cruise!!!
