Busy with planning a great send off for DUnc96...and being suportive wife fir DH...

Today I need to:

Go through pics for funeral collagedone

Send good pics for printing done

Try on funeral outfit...if it fits, good, if not, make a run to Fashion Bug It fits but I still might go looking tomorrow....

Drop off DS15 jacket to dry cleaners I knew I forgot something

DSW for shoes nope...went to restaurant with DH to pay deposit, see room, pick food

Pick up pics done...pics are AWESOME!!! DH was so excited. He found a box of amry pics...amazing pics of WWII...I got them all uploaded and printed.

4. Put stuff out on front porch--LOTS of rain/thunder, so this isn't happening!
5. Do Father's Day shopping--DONE
6. Maybe finish CJ's (just have to print pics & put down)
7. Watch "So You Think You Can Dance"
8. Go to bed sort of early!

Yup, sad but true...we call it "Mommy Brain" around here...

Symptomology:

Forgeting the names of simple household things...name replaced with "thing" as in "Honey can you bring me the thing?" Which is answered with the "look"

Walking into rooms, totally forgeting why once there, then having to walk back to the room you left...standing there waiting for it to hit you again...then walking back

OK, you don't have to have Mommy Brain to do these things, I just know that I always knew the names of things, and thought my mom was crazy till I had my kids...I also had a memory before kids, and now have CRS (can't remember squat)

The good news was, after I got Mommy Brain MY mother suddenly found her old one and got smart again... go figure...

my mother could not and still does not remember our names. & there is only 3 of us. she calls us by the wrong name all the time. i'm always saying "ma, i'm holly!"
luckily i only have one. but i do catch myself calling ds by dh's name and vice versa!!!

Mommy Brain I so relate. DH says I didn't get it until after Noah was born though. Some ladies get it before but mine waited until after. I'll say a sentence and DH will just stare at me and tell me to say it again. I usually say it again completely wrong and still have no idea until he tells me and I say it back to myself again. Luckily I'm doing ok at work and its just really bad at home.

Oh, the name game! Yep, I am the youngest of three and the only girl. I thought my mom was nuts for calling me my brothers name. I kept telling her that I was her only girl, how could you get us mixed up? I also remember my grandmother doing the same- she got to the point of just saying "whichever kid you are, come here!" Fastforward to the present and I am mixing up my DD and DS and telling them "whichever kid you are, come here!"


I can't tell you how many times this week I have walked into a room and completely forgotten why I was there.

Mommy brain has NOTHING to do with age either.
