I had a great weekend and this is a short week for school so I have to accomplish alot to enjoy the break w/ the kids on Friday.. (half days on Wed & Thur)..

I had a wonderful time at the cross stitch retreat in Myrtle Beach. I stitched, hung out with friends, laughed, chatted, ate, ate, and ate!!! It was a blast.

Today:

Catch up reading the posts on here that I missed Done

Laundry Done
Fondle my new cross stitch stash and scrapbook stash (I found a store there)!!! Done
Put away my new cross stitch stash
Put away my new scrapbook stash

These challenges we have are the only the pages I've scrapped in a very long time. Now that my angel pieces are done, I'm going to try another scrap with swapped page. After the book fair thing.

How did mom's party go???

My Mom's party was great. I decorated the dining room table (there were 5 of us and we had a house) while she was sleeping the night before her birthday. She's always the first one up and goes straight in to make the coffee. She was so surprised when she saw all the decorations. She loves cats, so I did a "Cats in Party Hats" theme. It was so fun. We all wore beads and party hats. We just had plain ol' hats, but I got my Mom a special crown. It was animal print and there was a fluffy crown on a headband and she had a purple feather boa. She wore the crown ALL day even to the cross stitch events that night!!! Then, we had star shaped sunglasses. The cats on the decorations had on party hats, bows, and sunglasses, so we sort of matched. We had champagne and mini cupcakes and laughed and had a wonderful time. My Mom sang us bar songs which had us in stitches. My Mom is a bit wild and it's such fun to watch her. She really enjoyed her birthday. She's going out to lunch with her senior center friends on Thursday and she's going to wear her boa and crown to lunch!

So glad she had a wonderful time!!! It's great to have a mom that opens up and does fun stuff like that... I know my Granny use too...and DH gets to laughing because every once in a while.. I'll think of her and start singing a special song she taught me when I was little... it's a song about the River of Jordan...and little did I know... some years later... I would give that name to my DD...

How wonderful to have such good memories of your Granny. I wish I was more like my Mom and could open up like that. But, I'm more like my Dad and I'm shy and reserved. I can get really silly with DH and DS, but with others I'm much quieter.
