oh Nan! forget it!!!!! that is just something. i'm with everyone else. no way, no how. how rude! and telling you what to bring? are ya kiddin' me?!
we are here for you to vent away. no judging at all. we all have family like that. and i also agree with AWM on the blood doesn't mean bond. good phrase.

DH called his mother last night..and told her that NO I would NOT be attending.. NO we would not be overnighting a gift up (yup she suggested that), that when we find out the baby has been born (more than likely sometime before she marries due to lack of communication) we will send a gift up, and that the last minute notice was unacceptable for our family schedule and that the number I called to RSVP was incorrect.(i never called the number because we knew it was NOT correct)...

She copped her tude and DH gave it back to her and told her it was really funny that NO ONE has called to check on his health, his family, the grandkids, etc in over a year...and that it's funny that the only time we have communication is when ONE of them NEED something.... she told DH that we are just too uppity for them... DH said..uppity.. uppity.. if I'm uppity because I SUPPORT my family by working a full time job, volunteering in my kids school, being their for my family on a daily basis.. than YES I'M UPPITY AND DAMN PROUD OF IT!!! He than hung up and told me.. are they just stupid or what?

Good job, DH!!! I can't believe that!! That is pretty stupid! And all they are missing out on by not being a part of your family and knowing how wonderful that is!

Good for DH! Glad he called and took them on! Guess uppity is OK when they need or want something though isn't it.

So, I take it your FIL is not part of that branch anymore?

I think they call me uppity too... but mostally they spell it with a "B"

NO FIL has been out of that crowd for years... He still lived in the area but because he would NOT toss money at them..... he was ousted!!!
FIL and SMIL moved down this direction last summer!!! It's been great!!

FIL has been here @ my house Mon & Tues this week to see his grandbabies play bb.... He is so good... (his wife, I can do w/o..but having her away from the idiots north, she is calming and is becoming more interactive w/ us and the kids... I think the stress was doing her in)...
