Thanks for so many supportive comments! I wanted to update and let ya'll know that since Sunday our vacation has turned around
We have had no more issues (of course haven't called BS or mouse keeping for any reason though!) Got new pillows yesterday and slept MUCH better last night!
The kids are loving the Savannah, my DD wakes up every morning and announces what animals are out and what they are doing. She has spent at least an hour first thing in the morning on the balcony. We hit the pool yesterday and I remember WHY we chose Kidani for this trip, it really is fabulous for the kids! I would love to check out the Community Hall but it is quite a hike from here and we haven't had a chance yet. Maybe Thursday when we have no plans to go to a park.
To answer those that would ask why in the world I would have BS deliver groceries....I am 7 months pregnant, have two small children and we had several bags along with a good bit of groceries. We settle in for the week and eat 2 meals a day in the room (at least). It's just easier for us and works with our vacation habits. My husband gets here and wants to valet, use BS and be on vacation. He did not want to haul 7-8 bags of groceries from the garage to the room and I don't blame him. I was admittedly concerned about leaving perishables though and expressed that, but BS assured me all would be refrigerated until delivered. I talked DH out of using the valet after seeing how far we were from the lobby, btw! Obviously given our experience we learned it wasn't worth it to use BS either and won't be doing that again, here at AKV anyway
I also want to comment that as much as I wished we were at OKW on Sunday given the BS issue, we will absolutely stay at AKV again in the future. The animals and pool are just so great for the kids! They have loved every second
But next time I think I would try for a room at Jambo. The pool, extra bath and "convenient" parking were why we chose Kidani. We haven't used the extra bathroom at all, the parking is not convenient as I was hoping and it would be just as easy to drive from Jambo and park right next to the pool for an afternoon as it is to walk there from our room.
Our quiet time is now up and we are off to the pool for the next couple hours.
Thanks all and hope this is helpful to those looking for info on Kidani for future planning!
