I have been thinking a lot lately about our at-home reception (since I can more easily plan those aspects this far ahead). My question relates to cakes.

I have always liked and hoped to have a fancy cake with staircases (I would replace the fountain with flowers):

Since we're looking at a 28-person wedding at Disney, such a cake would just be crazy (and expensive as all get-out). I am considering having a cake like this for the at-home reception as we are looking at 125 people.

Would be out-of-line or bad to have a fancy cake at the second reception? Any opinions and/or advice would be very welcome!

TIA!

I say do what you want!!!

I dont think there are rules anymore. You've always wanted this cake, have your cake and eat it too!!! Just think, if you dont... cuz you're worried it's out of line, you will someday regret not having your dream cake.

And if you have any leftovers, I'd be glad to give you my address so you can send me some!

What she said! Also, I too will be happy to relieve you of any leftover cake. :rotfl:

Maybe I should just invite all my lovely DISfriends to the reception and send it home with you! :rotfl:

I think that you should have whatever cake you want for your at home celebration! And send some to Texas too!:rotfl:
