At Disney Now

My husband keeps saying how could it be fine at the desk at Sports when they "fix" everything. But by the time he gets to the parks his tickets disappear? Plus I have been watching from home and keep getting the emails as they add the tickets back on, but then they disappear again.

It is a shame that Disney can't get it right, because it is a good concept if it would work correctly for everyone all of the time.

I've been a huge supporter of magic bands (they worked great on my trip except my FP's never showed so I had to pull them up on my phone to show the CM's) but the whole process seem to be getting worse as more people are using the system for FP, ADR's, tickets, etc.

Sounds like the technology just isn't capable of handling such a massive amount of constantly changing information yet.

I've been defending MB and FP+ for months since my amazing Dec trip, and I've even been saving for another Dec trip this year, but I gotta admit I'm starting to debate whether I should wait until Dec 2015 to give them another year to get everything straightened out. I'm pretty easy going but dealing with problem after problem doesn't sound like much of a vacation, especially when I can have carefree days at DL whenever I want (going again tomorrow :)).

I had at least 10 people say "everything was fine", but ten minutes later it wasn't. It is extremely frustrating. What resort are they at?
 
Oh you said Sports. I finally found one CM at my resort who figured out the issue. This is what I recommend. Have the resort "check them out" and recheck them in under a new reservation. That is what Finally cleared it out for me. Talk to a main manager at Sports. Have them call the IT department. They had to "check me out" and "check me back in" for it to work.

I think your totally right. The system their using is having issues keeping up with the constantly changing situations. I think they would do better to have MB hooked up for room key, park tickets and FP. Work out all the kinks in those 3 catagories then add one additional service one at a time and work out all glitches before proceeding.

I also wonder how many issues are happening because of software issues. I also wonder if there are issues where software is having issues reading similar RFID info ....example you are guest POP 2346 and another guest is POL 3346. Just a thought.
 
Just got off of the phone with him. He was at guest relations at DHS. His band didn't work yet again to get back in the park.

Just a few hours ago at Sports at the desk everything was good, now his band is only saying he has a Disney Quest admission. He was at Disney Quest Friday afternoon after checking in with my son.

Guest Relations at DHS is keeping his bands, gave them 2 paper fast passes for tonight and told him they are calling sports to take away the reservation and to redo it all over.

I asked him what about eating or snacks tonight at DHS and they can't because no bands.

He is furious now, was ok until now, but this is the final straw. I told him be grateful you are not there with little kids or all 6 of us.

Thankfully when I tool the other kids in August we still had the regular cards.

I think they deserve a do-over long about now.

This is just crazy. :crazy2:

Vacations should not induce fury. :sad2: But I don't blame him for feeling that way.
 
Your DH sounds like he has a lot of patience. I know my DH would say "we're outta here!!! I hope they can get things straightened out enough to finish having a good time.
 
So this is a possible experience someone can look forward to happening in an upcoming trip. Thousands of dollars and lots of time planning and vacation time spent so your trip can be totally screwed up by a system that has this kind of technical issues. UNACCEPTABLE!!!! So sorry for you OP!

Oh dear God! I can see this Kafka-esque story playing out with your husband showing up at the front desk after they wipe out his reservation and the front desk clerk telling him that they have no record of him and calling security. :scared1: "You have entered the Twilight Zone!"

Still waiting to hear from him to see how the rest of the evening went. Can't wait to see if they still have a room, tickets, and dining when they get back to Sports.

OP I give your husband SO much credit! We were down there in Feb., ended up at EPCOT GR once for about 45 mins. and my DH just about lost it. He would be a raving lunatic if they put him through what your DH is going through! I believe they're leaving Tues.? I hope they get at least one trouble-free day :) Make sure you let us know how the rest of the trip goes!
 
I really hate to hear about all of the crazy FP and magic band problems your husband is having! We have done two trips with magic bands with no problems and really enjoyed using them. We are headed back in three weeks. After hearing of all the issues your husband is having I'm starting to get worried!
 
Final Update for tonight:

They stopped in Guest Relations on the way out of DHS, they were given new bands to take back to Sports to have activated. At sports they were given a refund of one night for their trouble. So for all of their troubles so far, they have received extra mugs, fast passes, free night, and one extra park day.

Disney has really tried to make this right. This situation is in no way ruining their vacation except for the time wasted. They are still having fun and being able to accomplish what they want to. (me on the other hand would be flipping out and it would ruin my way of touring the parks at rope drop).

They were able to get in their room a few minutes ago and both bands worked. We will see what tomorrow brings at AK.

I just want to clarify the entire time except for dinner the first night, my son's band has worked. They are on the same reservation, made at the same time and his has been fine. It has only been my husbands that has been the problem.
