If you do not get any takers, just go down to the front desk and offer them to someone checking in.
I have both done this and received items this way.

Good idea. We are out of here very early tomorrow however I will bring it to the lobby if no one else wants it.

You could also just leave any unopened items in your room with a note saying you are leaving them for housekeeping. I'm sure it will be appreciated.

When we were at BCV last month, there was a small neatly stacked pile of groceries outside a door with a note "Free, looking for a good home".
