leave personal stuff at your lounge chair while you're off on the slides and in the pool, etc?

Normally I would say yes. The last time that I was there my shirt and one of the kids that I was with shirts were taken. They left our shoes that our shirts were on. I went to guest services and they made up for the missing shirts.

We left our bag and had no problem. However, there was nothing in them that we would have missed that much had it been stolen. We kept our room keys on us and didn't bring any money or credit cards with us at all.

I would say that for the most part, yes it would be safe. I wouldn't leave an iPod or your room key out, but like shirts I would say for the most part would be fine.

Like I said it only happened the last time that I was there. I've been at the waterpark on numerous occasions and have never had a problem. They even said that on most occasions they never have a problem but it happens every so often.

As a general rule, if it is of any value (camera, wallet, etc) I would not leave it on your lounge chair. Of course, I'm sure you would conceal these items of value, but understand, that although you are at Disney World, dishonest people take vacations too ! Use caution, and inconspicuously( sp.) hide these types of items.

Cameras, wallets, room keys....definitely try to take them with you....(although one time, after riding Summit Plummet, I noticed our room key floating in the water...luckily was able to retrieve it).

We usually leave our flip flops and our towels. Shirts we often wear (I have to be really careful about sunburn).

Buying new Disney-themed beach towels and then leaving them on your chair is a bad idea. I've overheard complaints of
new-towel-theft many times. If you plan on buying towels at a waterpark, at least bring a laundry marker and put a name on them right away. The better choice is to bring generic towels from home; those don't seem to get taken. Generally, what we do is to cover the chairs with our towels, then put our clothes underneath the towels. Sunscreen, glasses, and hats go inside a big ziploc in our little cooler underneath the chair. (I've had problems with sunscreen walking off at times, so I don't leave it in plain sight anymore.)

I bring along a little plastic pouch that I pin to the lining of my suit for money and passes. For photos, the best thing to do is buy a waterproof disposable camera; sand is never good for serious cameras. You can always rent a locker for anything that you don't wish to leave lying about.
