I don't post frequently. We left today for the parks, and when we returned noticed that the glass is gone from the cabinets above the kitchenette sink (staying in a studio) and the tv is now not working. It was our trash and towel day. I called maintenance, and they are telling me they are removing all the glass from the cabinets for safety reasons. Does this make sense? I can't help but think someone was in here and removed the glass for use in another villa and swapped out our working tv for one that is broken.

Call housekeeping about the glasses and see what they say. You call housekeeping if thing are missing (like dishes) or not clean.

You call maintenance for things that are not working.

It isn't the glasses, it is the actual glass in the doors to the cabinets. I was told maintenance is removing them for safety reasons. I just didn't know if anyone else had been told this.

I see. Maybe they are just tired of replacing them when they do break. The resorts been open for 10 years so If it's a safety issue, it took them a long time to figure it out.

I bet that someone got cut on the door glass and Disney is removing all of the glass to cover their.

I can beleive that it is for safety.

I was in a studio at the BC last year. One day, I just closed nicely the door of the cabinet and the glass fell on the counter and broke in pieces.

We've often had trouble with TV's at all resorts, DVC and non-DVC. The maint guy at the GF told us they get a lot of calls with issues. I've found unplugging them and waiting a minute and plugging them back in sometimes helps.

really?? let me guess people are telling you on here that you should not worry about not having a tv in the villa to save on annual dues? LOL
Really This iswhere I would complain to the top and missing glass from cabinets would concern me as there is glass everywhere we do not remove glass from doors anywhere else in the U.S. for safety purposes.

Well, I think is this case, those glass were not fixed properly on the cabinet door. So, if it is a manufacture problem, Disney is just acting properly to avoid accidents.

Do you really think they enjoy taking the time to undo all those cabinet doors ? Are'nt you happy Disney care about safety (for any reasons...)

How many glasses broke in other units ? I do not know, but if Disney took that decision, it must be more than one.

I am thrilled that Disney cares about safety if that is the case but no one knows for definite if that is the case of why it was removed I know there would be other ways to fix this not to mention Glass in any cabinet from china cabinets to glass doors in homes but we do not remove it as a general rule for any reason unless it has been broken into pieces or shattered and for all of them to be broken due to a manufacturer defect would be a highly unsual circumstance or they are new cabinets that were just found to have this defect.
