At BCV now.....

We checked into the BCV for our first stay here on April 7th....

Our room was not ready yet. We got lunch and ate it in the Solarioum it was nice and warm. I have to say the selection of food in their Market Place is not what we are used to since most times we stay at SSR. I know some folks say there is not a good variety at SSR but BCV has really nothing in the way of counter service. Even for breakfast their are no mickey waffles for the kids they were very disappointed.
When are room was ready we went up and it was a handicapped room.. So we asked to get moved to another room. They were able to get us another room. Why, they would put us in a handicapped room is beyond me...

The lobby is beautiful and I love the smell when you first enter. Very calming and relaxing.

We have a nice view of the quiet pool at BCV....

The rooms overall are smaller than SSR and I have to say I think that the pull-out couch needs to be updated. It is more like a typical pull-out not like the nice non-metal ones that SSR have. I guees we have been spoiled by the "newness" of SSR.

The location of BCV is Great do not get me wrong.

The pool is HUGE and the kids love the sand.

Ok, will post some pictures when we get back from HWS.....!!!!

Maybe you should try AKV Jambo House next time. That way you have a counter service option. That's where we are staying next February. When we stayed at BCV we loved it but really missed having a counter service option.

Don't get me wrong we do like BCV!!! But miss a few things that we are used to!!

We stay at BCV often and the kids love the pool. Mom isn't thrilled with the dining choices. If I want something cs, then the only choice is the market (which we went to get a turkey sandwich at our last stay and they were out of turkey! but suggested an uncrustable....I will NOT pay $5 for an uncrustable). The only other choice is at the pool. I love the atmosphere but the food choices leave a lot to be desired at this resort. If you don't want TS, then you're not left with much choice.

Hope you're having a great time! We'll be checking into BCV on Monday, then moving over to SSR on Friday, our first time at both resorts! We can't wait! I think we're really going to love them both. I haven't met a DVC yet that I don't like!

I have not been there in a while. But isn't there a counter/ snack place "Hurricane Hannah's" I think where you can get lunch items like hamburgers?

Yes, Hurricane Hannah's is out by the pool -- it's the "not much left" category. It's there but other than Beaches and Cream take out window, it's the only counter service. I really wish this resort had more food options. It's a lovely resort with a wonderful pool but the pool food is limited and only works for so long. We tend to not do TS because we're not big on following a time clock but the TS locations at BCV are ok. Not great, but ok.

We still love to stay there but tend to eat in the room more at that resort. It's the only thing I can think of they could improve on.

That is exactly how we feel about the resort...

Hurrican Hanna's is open till 8 pm.. But the kids are already tired of the food that they have there....At SSR they have much more options for CS....I would think the BW would have some counter service options that we could have too but we have not found any......

The burgers at HH are the same you get at Beaches, we also love the options at the marketplace. BCV= Heaven.

Call me silly, but when we stay at BCV and I want a CS meal, I just make the 5 minute walk over to Epcot's WS and pick up something to take back...fish and chips, or something from France. Can't beat it!!!

It's expensive, but there is a nice body lotion at Bath & Body called Rainkissed Leaves which is very close.

In our 4 stays at YC or BC, we've never had a problem walking in at the Captain's Table (I think that's what it's called - used to be Yacht Club Galley). They have a great buffet breakfast - quiet and fast, which is a nice break from all the noisy character buffets! Not counter service, I know, but a nice break from pre-planned meals.
