I had heard he existed & just saw him (her)! Wow, really big one. I guess 5 feet or so. We were walking over bridge back from parking lot (had gone to pick up Giordano's for dinner):) He was right below when you looked down! Kind of cool but glad we aren't on the first floor right now!

Yikes, scary! :scared1: Did you let the front desk know, I assume they would get it out of there quickly!pirate:

Here's been there for years. I remember seeing him under the bridge 3 or 4 years ago at least.

Oh no.....I thought they removed them. I can just envision him chasing me on the first floor lawn. :lmao:

I had no idea BCV had a gator. That's cool and scary all at the same time. I'll have to be on the lookout for him next time. The most I've only seen there are a few big old turtles.

If it is at all likely that an alligator CAN pose a threat to guests they do remove them to a place on property where they will not be a threat to guests.
It seems that if it is at all likely that one could make his way into an area with a lot of foot traffic that they would move him.

We did the Magic Behind Our Steam Trains tour a few years ago there was one under a bridge in a backstage area and someone asked about how they handle them.

The way it was explained - they tag them, and if they have to remove and relocate a tagged gator twice, they remove it from the property entirely to state swamp land.

I rented a Sea Raycer at OKW in December and took it to Downtown Disney, then on the way back up the river I went to Port Orleans - I was really surprised I didn't see any around there, especially around the treehouse villas.

We saw river otters at OKW a few years ago, they were so much fun to watch!

Saw him last week too, the turtles were swimming right by him (or is it her?) ... It is big, we were surprised to see it too...

Yes he was there when we were there April 26-May 12. He's probably the biggest we've seen. He had just reappeared and we told security that morning. After that, the bridge became busy with lookers. I took a few pictures. One of the electricians said he was at least a 6 footer. Most of the CMs said they hadn't seen one there in a long while. He pretty much stayed around our entire stay.

You guys have all the luck. I was at WDW last week and was looking for a gator (to see only), but didn't see any again. :sad1:

We were there this past weekend the 24-28th and saw him - I named him scooter. The animal people (as i call them)checked on him everyday while we were by the pool and told us he had been there for 3 weeks already they were going to remove him but he became agressive so unless he tries to make it on land they r going to leave him a while longer. I miss him. Haha. :cool2:

There was one at the AK not where he was suppose to be. We watched as they removed him. It was much smaller maybe 3-4 feet. It was fun, lots of people got video/pics.

We were there last week and I talked to a lady who had just seen the gator- she wasn't thrilled. Be careful what you wish for ;)

My understanding is that Disney monitors the gators (as best they can), and will catch and move one if they're concerned.

I found this guy in our "backyard" earlier this month (we live in South Florida on a swamp). He was about 10 ft. I will say in 15 years we've only seen one actually in the yard :scared1:

Several years ago there was a gator at BCV (5-6 years), but they removed him/her. This must be a new one. I'll look, but I doubt he'll still be there at the end of Sept.

Sadly people feed the BCV gators and Disney has to constantly keep removing them when they get too big.

Feeding a gator is a death sentence for the gator, please do not feed.

OMG -I would have nightmares , If I slept at all -
I have seen gaters in different areas of Disney ,smaller and big ones at Fort Wilderness and a few in the road ditches on the way to Riverside but not at BCV -But this was strange I thought , I didn't see the big turtles back on our March trip and there where so many of them last year -
