Currently at AKV in a 1 BR savannah view. These units are really beautiful. The artwork is especially nice. Love the bathroom. Thought the lack of the typical jacuzzi tub would bother me but it's really nice. The whole resort and staff have been great. The view from Sunset savannah is severely impacted by construction - I didn't realize it would be so close. I think they'd be better off considering all those rooms "Non" savannah view for the duration of construction since construction cranes and cement walls and trucks are not the views people typically look forward to when booking a sav. view - but other than that - absolutely great place. The parks are really crowded - I've never seen AK so crowded and a cm said it was a less crowded day than usual...Stayed at VB for 4 days prior to this stay - seems like months ago! It was wonderful too. Weather was great and the CMs were terrific as usual. We did an airboat tour in the Blue Cypress rec area and saw at least 30 alligators up close - very cool. It's about a 45 min drive from the resort and it's $40 per adult/$35 per kid - which is about the same or a little less than dolphin cruises at HH and I thought it was much more exciting.

Off to Typhoon Lagoon today and then back home:sad1: Have a new favorite resort though here at AKV!

Glad you're enjoying your stay... 6 months to go for us and it can't come soon enough...

We shall be there in just under 7 weeks, great to hear good reviews :)

Claire ;)

Thanks so much for the positive review! I'm headed there in 3 1/2 weeks, and I was starting to get "cold feet" about staying at AKV. Whenever I go to WDW solo, I've always stayed at BCV and was afraid I'd miss my "home" by staying at AKV.

We are 29 days from our 1st trip home, can't wait!!! We have never stayed at deluxe and I am so excited about all the room we will have. We have stayed in values our last two trips.

Thanks for the report. Glad you're enjoying your stay at AKV. We'll be there in 12 days! :cool1:

AWSOME, Glad to hear your having a MAGICAL time.
We'll be in the World in 85 days and not soon enough our 1st stay at our DVC (SSR).

We spent Christmas week (Dec. 20-26) at AKV & it was wonderful!!

It's now our 2nd favorite resort, after BCV

We would be interested in that air-boat tour you took...do you have any info. on it (name, phone #, or website, etc)? I'd love to book one for this summer. TIA!

Which savannah should I request to be away from construction? We have a sav view studio in early June.

A DISer told me Arusha Savannah - Zebra trail. And we got it. And it was lovely.

The construction is on the other side of the building and has no impact whatsoever. You just see the tip of the cranes.

Enjoy!

That's so exciting. I remember the feeling like it was yesterday and it was three years ago. You are going to be mesmerized. We stayed mostly Values before DVC as well. And when we finally had the $$$ saved, despite years and years of dreaming, it was still overwhelming.

We stayed in a studio our first time. The one bedroom, three trips in, almost killed me. In a lovely way!

Enjoy dairyqueenmom. Enjoy.
