First the good. Staying in savanna view studio for 2 nights before our cruise (last night and tonight). Room in good condition. Other than a little dust in places it is clean.

The disappoints part is seeing no animals. The only animal we have seen from our room is a talk stork like bird. In all fairness though we were gone most of today and it has been raining this afternoon.

Kind of was surprised that nothing was out late last afternoon when we checked in and it was nice out. Also nothing this morning when we got up.

Resort is nice and there are plenty of other places to see animals so it's been ok. We didn't make a room request and we are on 5th floor on the kuduku trail side. We are kind of around the corner it seems from where most the animals must be.

I would stay here again but probably wouldn't use points for savanna view unless could get more of a centralized view.

animals are hard to predict - but though the CM's were using food to get them nearer to guests?

most of the animals would probably be as far as possible from the guests if they could.

sorry your trip was not what you though it would be.

The animals are in the barns in the morning. A cm at kidani told me that 2 weeks ago. She said they are let out around 10:30, although they don't have to stay there.

I saw the most animals at dusk, when it was starting to get dark. In the blazing heat of day, I think most animals will escape to the shade and cooler areas where they aren't as "out there". Keep looking! You'll see them...:goodvibes

Sorry to hear you didn't get a daily dose of the animals - we just stayed at Kidani on the sunset savannah, and I was able to see my giraffes and zebras daily - of course, we didn't have park passes and checked the view often throughout the day - but the giraffes were there every day, they seemed to do their own 'loop' of the savannah as a routine daily, and we could usually be guaranteed to see them around 11 am, 2pm and near dusk. We saw several other types of animals throughout the day as well. When it rained hard one afternoon though, they all took off for parts unknown! Maybe try Kidani next time!

Were you on the Arusha savannah or sunset?

We had the Arusha savannah at Jambo on the Kudu trail and saw plenty of animals both early in the morning and as we were settling in the room at the end of the day. I think it all has to do with timing!!

So true about timing! My most wonderful sighting came around 11:30 PM, 5-8 zebras grazing or dozing outside the villa!:goodvibes

i figured they did that to get me to check out on time...;)

We haven't stayed at AKV (yet) not sure I'd want to spend extra points on the view (still debating that). :) OP - hope the rest of your trip is lots of fun!
