I posted this in the transportation section, but realized I might get more help here! TIA!

Hi, my 2 year old was recently diagnosed with asthma. On our upcoming trip, we'll need to bring his two inhalers with us in our carry-on. I know they are exempt from our 3-1-1 bags. My question is if I need to have the prescription info with me. The label is on the boxes, which I usually throw away, and just keep the inhaler. The inhaler itself has no information on it. Do they need to see that? Also, do we need any kind of note from his pulmonologist or anything? Sorry, these may be dumb questions, but I'm an asthma and travel newbie!

Also, as long as I'm asking on here...is there anything else I need to know or do for at the resort or in the parks? He is not severely asthmatic or anything, just moderate. Thanks!

I carry my inhaler in my pocket and put it in the bucket going through the x-ray. I have never had a problem

I've never had the prescription info, but if you're very concerned about it, you could ask your pharmacy to print out a label to stick on the inhaler. We also travel with epipens, so I put the inhalers and epipens in a plastic bag and pull the whole thing out and put it in the bin for the scan. TSA has never stopped me or asked about them.

As far as dealing with asthma at the resort and parks, just make sure you always have the inhalers. If his asthma is triggered by allergies, you can request an allergy cleaning of your room.

Have a great trip! :flower3:

I carry my inhaler in my pocketbook, not in the bag with the rest of my meds. I've never had a label on it and I've never been questioned. I guess they are common enough that the TSA screeners see dozens every day.

I've never had a problem - I put everything in a plastic bag (two separate inhalers) along with lip gloss and usually hand cream princess: ) and no one has ever batted an eye - both domestic and international flights. I carry a prescription list just in case, but I've never needed it.

Good luck!

My youngest only got an inhaler last year but before that she had the nebulizer and meds for that. When we flew I had all her meds in the same container and half of them did not have labels. There were no problems at all. Now we have the inhalers so I just carry them in a place that are easy to get to and have no problem.

Definitely keep it close on hand at Disney but hopefully you will not need the rescue one.

Have a great trip.
