Assumptions out the window

I'm learning you should never assume. I have a 5 night split stay in Nov (tues to Friday at BLT, and Fri & Sat at VWL) for 2 br. When originally planning the trip, I could not get the Friday at BLT, so I booked the Tue -Fri, and then the Sat separately. When the 7 month window opened, I grabbed Fri & Sat at VWL, and waitlisted the Fri & Sat at BLT, since the friday was still unavailable.

Well, I ASSUMED (which we all know what that means) that I would get an email or notification if a waitlist came through. To my surprise I checked online tonight to get the reservation numbers so we can start to plan our castle breakfast (I fear this may be our last year of Princess magic before she gets too "old") I found that we our now booked Tues through Friday night at BLT, with only the Saturday night at VWL. So I guess the Friday night came through :yay:, but now the Saturday is full. Hopefully the Saturday will come through as well so we don't have to move for just the one night.

Are we supposed to get a notice or did I make an *** of U and Me by thinking I would get an email?
 
I'm not sure if we're supposed to be notified of waitlist results, but I can tell you the reality is that getting a notification is rare (or at best, sporadic). You need to log in regularly to see if the status has changed.
 
I have received notification through the mail, not email. There is a good possibility that you will just get something in the mail later this week and you just caught it before the notification arrived.

I had a waitlist for 1 night this summer for BCV come through and I just happened to see it had gone through when I was looking at my online dining reservations. I assumed we got an e-mail too but I guess that isn't (necessarily) the case. :confused3
 
I got an e-mail when the one night missing from my BWV for F & W came thru. It came thru as a separate reservation and by the time I called to have it combined with the rest of the reservation, that had already been done.

Now I am hoping for the wait list for one night at VWL in early December will clear.
 
I am sure for the last three waitlists that went through, I got an email. The emails are a bit odd since they do not clearly spell out that the waitlist has comepleted, but rather looks like a normal confirmation email but shows different dates. I wonder if it has to do with some setting the MS has on an account.
 
In the last two years, I have always receive email notifications of reservations and successful wait list matches. However between Disney IT and numerous spam blockers (your Internet provider, your mail client, anti-virus software, etc.) it's entirely possible the message was misdirected.

I use Gmail and I am selective with that address, so I don't get a lot of spam, and I don't ever have a problem with things getting blocked. Not a big deal, just surprised.
