I got a text last night from a gmail account that said my mobile number has won $655,000 and for claims I need to email the gmail account back.

....assuming this is a scam right?

if you arent sure... ill take the risk and claim it for you, for a small cut of the winnings. but so i know you wont rip me off after i get you the money, give me my cut up front in a large sack of money with a dollar sign painted on it and i will be happy to deliver your winnings when i get them and totally not scam you out of your money! muhahaha

yes assume this is a scam too :)

Yes, a scam. I got a hacked text that was from one of my contacts, so they are getting sneaky. You just have to be super careful these days.

Why would you have any reason to assume otherwise?

Did you enter a contest that would make you think otherwise?

Yep, definitely a scam. Stay away...far away.

It's actually ppl like you who get the message and question whether or not it's a scam that make it worth while for those ppl. Because every once in awhile someone will be unsure and go for it. Do you really think there is someone out there just waiting to give you 600k for no reason? Unless it is Publishers Clearinghouse knocking at your door, it's a scam.

she gets a phone call that she won alot of money in the Austrailian lottery

all she had to do was scan and email her passport--well she tells the guy I dont have a passport but I can scan and email my drivers license--

the guy all for that!!!!

she called me to ask if she could come over and scan something--she couldnt get shes to work--

I said sure any time--I asked her what she needed to scan then she told me the whole story!!

I told her dont do it--its the biggest scam out there!! Oh did I forget to mention that it was Niegria is where she had to send her stuff:scared1:

I didnt care if she used our scanner but sheeeehs not for that!!!

she sounded disappointed but you can only imange what could have happened once they got her drivers licsense:scared1:

considering my dh got same text to his phone last night i'd say without a doubt it's a scam.

I check my email everyday :surfweb: and without fail there is always at least one new message in my spam box with someone wanting to send me $$$$. If I added all that money up ... you could all be my newest bestest friends and I'd treat everyone to a WDW trip.

Total scam.
