Assuming the situation in Libya is resolved soon....

That was for the two of us...the total. And I didn't say I wouldn't pay it...just wondered if it would go down again, since it was lower before.:confused3

I just bought our tickets on Travelocity, Delta airlines. $478 for us both. Driving is out of the question, both financially b/c of the distance, and time-wise. I'm A-ok with what I paid....just asked a simple question.
Well if you are "A-ok" with it why have you spent days whining about it on an IBB? Once you have purchased tickets then quit looking at airfare. DL charges $150 per ticket to change and hence any small differences in fares from now on would be negated by the change fee.

Excuse me? I asked a transportation question on the transportation board...I wasn't whining. Please feel free to not comment or read any of my threads in future. Just b/c someone apparently pee'd in YOUR cornflakes doesn't mean you have to be snotty and rude to other people.

I have no plans to keep "looking at airfare" I was just reporting what I ended up paying, to let the NICE people who answered me know what happened.

Good grief, you delight in being a downer and mis-judging people, it seems. Every single post of yours on this thread has been defensive, offensive, and rude.

First of all there is no "oil crisis".
This is just a situation created by oil companies.
Coming from long years experience they created there own "shortage".
The big oil tankers are kept on sea for weeks extra and wait until the price is high enough for the companies and only than they are unloaded. They make millions by just doing nothing. :headache:
So don't expect to see the gas prices getting lower.

Generally speaking, airfares go up the closer you get to departure dates. Supply/demand. If a plane is empty, an airline will change passengers to other flights rather than lower fares.
Everyone needs to decide what airfare they are willing to spend..then book when they see it. Playing the waiting game is a dangerous thing lately. I will pay no more than $250 pp, r/t from Mass to MCO. Yes, there have been times I spent more...depends on how important it is to me. And no...I am NOT looking for the cheapest fare possible. I just know my limits.

So...this thread has gotten too personal and argumentative. It has become a back and forth between two posters. While 'warm and fuzzy' doesn't describe the Transportation Board, politeness and civility does.
This thread is done. There is no room for making others feel like idiots or for insulting posts.
