How many and what days would it be for? If the rumors about the free dining being extended are true our dates would fall into that.

We are checking in on Thursday and will be getting park passes for Friday and Saturday and checking out Sunday. Would the free dining be for the entire stay or just 2 days?

I have nothing booked now but are planning on booking at the Caribbean beach - should I book just a room now or wait? What about the park passes, do I wait and book them once (if) free dining is announced?

We are going to be there nov 14-17.

Oh and how do you go about making reservations? Do you have to have reservations for everywhere or are there places you can dine "on the fly" - (again assuming I have the free dining). If we aren't sure what park we'll be at (if we see enough of MK the first day we'll try a second park the second day but if we don't then we'll go back) can we have two reservations - one at each park and then cancel when we know for sure?

Dining credits are based off the number of nights. You're there 3 nights so you'd get 3TS, 3QS, 3 snacks pp. I'd just book what you want now versus waiting, but if FD comes out having a room already booked doesn't mean you will automatically get that room with the promo. Promos get limited inventory.

QS locations are 'dine on the fly.' No reservations required for those at all. Like a fast food walk up window. I believe the system no longer allows multiple TS reservations within the same time window and many places now charge a no show/same day cancellation fee so I wouldn't take that route.

You can book dining reservations online or over the phone.

I recommend going ahead and making the reservations and then calling to change or add the dining later.

So can you use the credits any way you want? Or is it 1 QS AND 1 TS each day?

You can use all the same day if you choose but.. a lot use two TS for the two credits and just using the rest of CS. It is up to you how you want to use them.

You can get the free dining if your dates all into the dates you have book. It has to fall into the FD dates ex if you leave the day it ends you only get that day. Or if you are there for 3 days and it ends during your stay you don't get FD ..this is how it was explain to me so it only my view

You have to check in when free dining is going on. If you check in the day it ends you would still get it for the entire stay. Unless the rules have changed?

Once when we got free dining, they required a 5 night stay. Not sure if the next free dining will have that requirement.

In hoping that's not the case - I wasn't even paying attention to the rumors because I had assumed it was for longer stays but then I read its supposed to be three nights this time and now I'm chomping at the bit for it lol!

To clarify as the way I read it is not quite correct.

* You MUST arrive during FD dates.
* If FD ends before you check OUT, you will STILL get FD for all your stay, up to 10 (or 14) days.
* If FD starts AFTER you check in, you will NOT get FD at all.

If the last is your case, your option is to do a split stay. You will book room only for the nights prior to FD, and then FD package (with tickets - 2 day min). This will ONLY give you FD during the package - you will not have a dining plan during the days under your room only reservation. You CAN however get the tickets from your FD reservation ahead of time (up to 3 days) by visiting guest services.

For example, the current PIN has the last period of December for FD being for arrivals between 12/15 and 12/22.

If you arrive 12/14 for say 7n- you will NOT get FD.
If you arrive 12/15 for say 7n- you WILL get FD all nights.
If you arrive 12/22 for say 7n- you WILL get FD all nights.

A split stay would like this:

12/14 - ROOM ONLY reservation
12/15-12/23 - FD reservation with 8 day tickets.

On 12/14 you can go to guest services and get your tickets from your FD reservation and can start using them. You will NOT have a dining plan that day.

On 12/15 you will start having a dining plan. Note even if staying at the same resort and same type of room, you may need to move rooms. You will need to check out and check in.

(NOTE - Edited - Thanks to siskaren)

For at least the last 4 years, it's been a minimum of 3 night stay. Now disney advertising will try to confuse you. The ads will give an example of a 5 night stay...but that is not the minimum. It's sneeky, and based on how many people post on here about it, it tricks a lot of people. You must also buy at least a 2 day park ticket. But you said you're going to the park for 2 days, so you'll be fine there too.

But I should wait on buying the park tickets because it all has to be part of a "package" correct?

To get free dinning, you must get a package (room plus tickets). So yeah, just book it all at one time. You can book now or wait to see if FD comes out...that parts up to you :) As others have said, you can apply FD to your reservation later. It depends on availability (if/when FD comes out) on whether you'll have to change rooms types or resorts to get the FD deal. But that can all be done over the phone.

Free dining requires you to book a vacation package that includes a minimum of a 5 night stay + minimum of a 2 day park pass.

It can not be added to a room only reservation. All 3 things need to be booked together.

You don't have to stay 5 nights.. That was just a scenario they put together.... The minimum in fact is just three days with at least a 2 day ticket.
