We just returned from a stay Aug 30th-Sep 5th and, generally, things went great. We had done a ASM a few years ago and were looking forward to another stay at a pretty amazing price (2 adults; 1 child for 6 nites, <$1,200 including 7 day Park Hoppers and, yes, the free Dining).
.
Unfortunately, the ASSports housekeeping isn't super-diligent about changing bedding, even after a room turns-over. Yuck, is right.
Interestingly, on our first day, before we even check our room, some other guests noted the exact same problem (we treated it as an isolated incident and hoped for the best)!
.
10pm that nite and we pulled away the covers of what seemed to be a clean bed and found the damp evidence of (hopefully) a child not wearing pull-ups. A few frantic calls and "Luis" showed up with new sheets, a new pad, a new blanket. We flipped the mattress, since the bottom appeared ok, gratefully put on the clean pad and slept happily for 6 nites thereafter.
.
I can only guess that the housekeeping staff is quite stretched or their housekeeping management needs some "training". It would have been nice to have been offered an apology (the other family didn't receive one either), but All Star is budget-city and unfortunately, sometimes we get what we paid for.
.
Do any of you perceive quality differences between the AS Resorts?
For me, they are better than Pop, since they are "only" 3-Story and hence less-crowded.
