We are deluxe people (DVC) but stayed value years ago. We are joining family and out of points since we were just there a couple months ago for 10 days. I need this as cheap as possible. We found free dining available at POP or ASSP. POP has newer rooms, and queen beds. Family is at ASMU. POP is more so if you could do 8 nights at ASSP or 7 at POP....What would you do?

We would do Sports as it's our favorite Value, it's cheaper and you'll be closer to your family.

When it comes to the values I normally suggest Pop. But given your situation, I'd probably go with Sports! All-Star Sports is where my family stayed when I was a kid, and we always really enjoyed it. Great pools (and you can go between the three resorts to enjoy the pools at the others, too... I always was a big fan of the big guitar pool at Music).

Sports is my least favorite of the values. I would almost always opt for Pop. But, in your situation, staying at Sports would be the better idea. You'll be very close to your family.

We did Sports earlier this year after several stays at Pop, we chose it due to price as for our dates only preferred rooms were available at Pop and standard were available at ASSp. We were also looking for something a little different. We were very pleasantly surprised. Based on what I had read on these boards I requested a first floor room in Home Run Hotel. We drove and parking is very close and the room was quiet. This area has its own pool that we really enjoyed using. It is also a close and pleasant walk to get to the lobby and bus stop. Home Run hotel is not considered preferred so you save a few $$ too. The food court was fine, nothing special. Bus service was outstanding. I don't think we ever waited more than five minutes for a bus. We experienced teen groups at both but no problems at all.

We like Pop but ASSp felt much smaller. We had standard rooms at Pop that had not been renovated so cant comment on that aspect. We love the rooms facing the lake but it makes for a long walk to either your vehicle or to the lobby and bus stop. The stay last year we were in the far building of I think the 90's section and it made for a long walk across a parking lot. Pop food court and lobby is a lot larger with more selections. Buses fine also, no problem.

With any of the Values, the bus stops are a long walk away at the Parks and especially so for Disney Springs. But it beats driving there!!

Wow, I can’t believe everyone chose sports, I saw that going the other way. Unfortunately in the time it took to decide, sports booked up. So POP it is. I think it will be for the best since we are both 5’11 and son is 6 foot, so the double beds may not have been the greatest idea. Thanks for all the input everyone though.

Sports is our favorite AllStar value but if compared to POP .... I'd take POP hands down.
- NEW ROOMS with QUEEN Beds
- More landscape and "softer" feel with the additional green
- Easy access to AoA food court which is nicer than the other values
- Quiet pools bigger and nicer than values

Even when we go with family, resort doesn't matter. We set up a time in the morning to meet in the parks. Doing this means come morning if someone is tired and wants to sleep or eat at resort vs park or just not ready when you are (and visa versa) ..... no one is holding up anyone.

8 at sports, no question. They're both value, not a huge difference. Other the the buses (which it's not a huge deal or difference) I'm not a huge fan of Pop anyway. Plus with your family at music, it'll make it much easier to meet up with them.

I see you already had to book with Pop, but I would have picked that anyway. I will always pick Pop as long as it has the queen beds. Soon they all will, though which is great!

Pop is my favorite of the values, so I'm sure you'll have a good time! The renovated rooms are really spectacular and I can't wait for my own next stay there later in the year! The queen-sized beds will likely fit your taller family and there's still plenty of ways to meet up either at the resorts (via Minnie Vans or Uber) or in front of the parks.
