I'm all for it.
Being stuck in a hospital bed for even just a few weeks is an aweful experience. I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to stay there for months. And not only that...but being in so much pain or in such a critical condition that you can't even take care of yourself anymore. You can't get up to go to the bathroom, but rather have to have nurses come over to empty a bed pan every few hours. You have so many tubes and wires put into your body that it's nearly impossible to count them all. You can't eat by yourself so the doctors put a tube down your thoat so they can pour liquified sludge into your stomach. And then, worst yet, you get to look at the expressions of your loved ones as they do it. You see the pain and up hurt in their eyes...know that THEY know you won't be around to see their next birthday or Christmas.
Would YOU want to stay alive at that point?
If a person is in such a condition and is still there mentally, I believe that they should have every right to have assisted suicide if they and their families agree with it.
