ASMU Family suites Help

We are staying at the ASMU Family suites we arrive this week Is there a room or location we should ask for??? Are there dishes in the kitchen? Dish Soap?? Anything we should bring or know?? TIA!!!!!

We stayed in the Jazz section Christmas 2006. I don't remember the room number. A small bottle of dish soap was provided along with regular soap, shampoo, etc... We had paper plates, cups, bowls etc... Have a wonderful trip!!!

we just returned a week ago and really liked the suites. we stayed in the calypso building and it was great! really close to the pool, food court & buses.

we did not get dish soap & that was one thing that i thought would have been useful (we got the refillable mugs & by the end of the week they needed some soap!). there were paper towels, paper plates, bowl, plastic forks, knives & spoons. (they weren't always replaced by the maids, but you can get most of those items at the food court if you need them). they also refilled the coffee/sugars daily for the coffee maker.

it was our first time there and we really liked it. the daily activities by the pool for the kids were really fun. hope you have a great trip!

Anyone else Calypso or Jazz location?? Are there elevators if you get 2nd or 3rd floor??? Which floor do you prefer???

We were Calypso on the first floor. Come out the door, turn right, go down the little hall and walk into the pool, LOL! You couldn't have asked for a better location since our car was parked right outside our door. Enjoy!

it was our first time there and we really liked it. the daily activities by the pool for the kids were really fun.

We're leaving in 8 days

Can you clarify what kinds of activities were offered? I have heard bits and pieces on the boards, but wondering what has been going on lately. Thanks!

We were at the family suites last summer, Calypso section, overlooking the pool. Fabulous location. Great rooms.

During the summer, they offer movies during the night at the pool, I'm not sure about now. It was fabulous. There were nightly activities planned. We had a blast.

yes there are elevators & a few sets of stairs all around the buildings (one set of stairs at the center of the building next to the elevators & one set of stairs at the end of each wing of the building. at calypso the set of stairs was surrounded by a big bongo drum & my son still asks to "go to disney hotel and go up the bongo drum!!"). we were on the second floor and used the stairs most of the time.

as far as pool activities this is what i saw:
during the day: musical chairs, hula hoop contest, scavenger hunt, bingo, trivia contest, dance party
at night: dance contests & they had a big blow up movie screen where they showed movies & had wii competitions
there were a lot more things scheduled (you get the weekly schedule at check-in), but this is all that i can remember. most of them were free (bingo was the only one that cost $1 per card) and they gave out some cool prizes (disney puzzles, nerf footballs, high school musical mystery date game & other board games).

Last summer All Star Music and BC& YC started the poolside activities as part of a pilot program. They were relying on guest feedback to see if they keep the program and perhaps extend the program to other resorts.

The programs started in the arcade about 1 PM and lasted until the night time movie.

The recreation manager e-mailed the list of activies when I called him last September.(2007)

***Please note I have read that the activies have been scaled back and start about 3 or 4 PM now.

**DISCLAIMER: I have no idea how long the resort will continue the actiivities.
Please let All Star Music management know if you would like the activities continued.

minnie61650, the schedule that you posted seems to be what was going on just a few weeks ago. that is a very good idea about letting them know that we enjoyed the activities so they will continue them!

We are booked for Nov 30-Dec 5 and would like to know if all the buildings have the family suites. It looks like the Calypso is a nice choice

The Family Suites are located in the Calypso and Jazz Inn Buildings.
Calypso Building 1 has 32 suites
Calypso Building 10 has 54 suites
Jazz Inn Building 2 has 52 suites
Jazz Inn Building 9 has 54 suites

The suites are located on all three floors, and are near each other, but none offer connecting suites. There is no price difference between the buildings.
