Well after changing dates from Nov to Spring Break and my DH decided that he simply did not trust renting DVC. As a result we are booked for the ASMU family suite 4/9-4/15. It's not deluxe but we will have fun any way. I'd love to hear any reviews from people that have stayed there.

We have stayed there multiple times and liked it. The rooms are VERY spacious, I would choose an ASMu suite over Art of Animation for the room hands down. We have older kids, so the pool and activities are not important. The positives for us are:

Full kitchenette - it's a separate area with counters and cabinets upper and lower in an L shape with a sink and microwave.
Bathrooms - two full bathrooms because the suites used to be two separate hotel rooms
Closets - two regular closet areas, with big bar and shelf above vs a small "locker" area in the living room.
Space - the living room is much larger because it is not split into a living room/dining room areas.
Parking - we drive, so the walk from the parking lot to the room was never long

The resort is not large, and it's easy to walk everywhere. The food court and gift shop are fine, and the buses only share during the middle of the day when it's not busy.

I've only stayed in a family suite once, but I really liked it! Lots of space to spread out. And I really like having a couch to sit on during the day if we are taking a break from the parks. We ordered from Garden Grocer and used the microwave to do quick breakfasts in the room.

We stayed in the family suite last year and had a great experience. I like that the suites are in the closest buildings to the food court/ bus stop/ front desk. Makes for a shorter walk at the end of the day! The kitchenette worked great for breakfast (I brought a waffle iron) and making lunches. The only thing I didn't like was the size of the table. It's not meant to be a dining table, it's small and has two chairs. So we took turns eating, or we used the ottoman as a table. My kids were small (18 months and 5 at the time). The 5 yo slept on the small pull out chair and no issues. Another big plus of the suite is 2 bathrooms!

We stayed there last and really liked it. My mom thought it was better than the Beach Club, lol. We got lucky and had good bus service the whole week, the room was clean and in good order and we practically had the pool to ourselves. No complaints except the front desk staff was not too friendly but we rarely had to deal with them.

Our family group had two of these suites plus a regular room nearby and it really worked out great, spacious and love the two bathrooms. As others said, the suites are in the building nearest to the lobby/food court/bus stop so no long walks. Very nice set up and we had breakfast in the room every morning while getting ready, which is a much calmer start to the day versus the hectic food court.
