Hi! Me again, thinking about changing my plans, again! :lmao: But I was wondering what other members thought about doing a split stay with the first week at ASMu and the second week at AKL instead of the whole 2 weeks at CSR. We stayed at ASMu this month and thought it was just fine so that's not an issue, but I'm thinking it would be nice to stay Deluxe for a week, and I could see us getting bored of CSR for a whole 2 weeks anyway. The price difference is less than £200 too.

I'd definitely go for the split stay!

I'll warn you though it makes your holiday feel FAST!

We love AKL and visited CSR last trip and weren't all that impressed....

Go for it! - sounds like a great idea:thumbsup2
I'm forever doing split stays- don't think I've ever done 2 weeks in the same place yet.:)

14 nights is a long time to stay at one resort isn't it? I'm thinking about maybe Wilderness Lodge instead of AKL now too. It looks beautiful, and I like the idea of being a boat ride away from MK.

I change my mind so much! :lmao:

I dont like the idea of a split stay, means packing and unpacking again and i hate doing it twice never mind anymore time :lmao: .

Although AKL looked really nice when we went and had a look. If i was going to do a split stay AKL would be a contender :).
Im not to fussed about were i stay as long as it has a bed and a shower :).

My 10pence :)

Ben your inexpensive short trip is getting more and more expensive:lmao: Your not only going the same dates as Us but also maybe AKL as well:thumbsup2.Joking aside we did a 3 stay last trip and it really doesn't bother us at. Its nice to experience different hotels. We stayed at aklv for the first time last year after staying at SSR and there was no comparrison. It simply is Wow when you walk in. I must admit I love both WL and AKL just love the rustic feel.
So what flight are you on? We are on the 13.30 VA flight from manchester.

I am with Cooks on this one, hate changing resorts. This year doing a cruise in the middle, its a complete pain packing and unpacking.
One problem we have is laptops, don't want to leave them anywhere so can't do a lot from leaving one resort and getting into next, wastes a day for us changing resorts.
Many others enjoy moving resorts, we don't.

Changing resorts doesn't really bother me, it's only gonna be a few hours at most and we live out of our suitcase on holiday anyway. We switched from I-Drive to ASMu mid trip this time and that was easy enough. There's no way we could afford Deluxe for 14 nights, so I'm thinking doing a Value for a week (spend most of the time out of the resort anyway) and then experiencing Deluxe for the second week (spending more time exploring the resort) might work out really well for us. Value/Deluxe split is only a bit more expensive than a whole Moderate stay too.

I think I'm trying to convince myself haha!

If you wanna ride the boat to MK then WL, if you wanna live with the animals :lmao: AKL. :)

What about a split stay between a disney hotel and a universal hotel. We love our split stays

I've never done a split stay but I've always wanted to, the packing and unpacking would annoy me but if you don't mind it then its down to you!

I've also never stayed at AKL, we kinda feel its a bit far away from where we want to be in the World, and for the past 3 trips have stayed at WL and we love it. I have the feeling that the animals at AKL may be good for a couple of days and then just get annoying, and it also depends where abouts you are in AKL. :confused3

But of course it's down to you, for where you want to be and see. This is only my opinion :)

Are you getting free dining or paying for the dining plan? If so it is never a good idea to split.

Personally I would choose CSR for the whole stay but that's only because I would never stay at a value and we really like CSR.

I am also an unpack and settle in kind of a person. We split this time 4 nights then 10 nights and I packed one case for the 4 nights and left the rest packed until the move. I would do this again and 4 nights for the first stay is about right for us.

I would also choose WL over AK.

Sorry but how can looking at animals be annoying. People like different things and it is not much further than other resorts. I cannot comment on resorts i hvnt stayed at but i think its a personal thing. To us its not all about magic kingdom . Everyone has there own agenda and likes. Ben it is up to you but akl is gorgeous and im sure wilderness lodge is as well. Like the other poster said if you are doing the free ddp for 2 weeks you would have to do 2 seperate bookings and buy 2 lots of tickets. Did u book through US site though? I know free ddp only lasts up to the 18 th nov here

Sorry its just the opinion of myself and my family, we are animal fans, but I don't know I think it would be great for the first few days but they would end up just being there to us, that's why we've never stayed there. And no you're right its not about the MK for us either, we just like being in that area. Sorry if my opinion has annoyed or upset anyone.

I'd go for a split stay @AKL in a heartbeat. amazing resort! You have 2 weeks at Disney and don't have to worry so much about distances at that point.

Would you consider renting DVC points?

Anyway you decide, have a fab time!

We're not on the DDP so that's not an issue. I'm gonna' think it over for a bit then decide whether to change our ressie from CSR to a split, it will probably be to AKL if I do though.

Thanks for everyones opinions :)

We hv rented points for 3 years now. For 5 nights in a one bedroom in kidani it has cost £850ish. A studio for a week is around 500. Uv got me thinkin now abt the poly for our first 5 nights:scared1:
