ASMO vs. POP In October?

I'm torn between these 2 resorts and would like your opinions on which to choose.

We would be me (32) and DH (33) and possibly DM (55) in her own room and also various possible friends in their own rooms. No kids. Our travel dates are 10/1 - 10/8/05. DH & I stayed at ASMO in Fantasia in November 2000 and found it adequate.

I'm interested in rooms (decor, size, etc.), crowds at the hotel, food court comparisons, adult time (lounge) and we would be using bus transportation so opinions on that also.

What have your experiences been at either of those hotels during the first week in October or at least during value season? I'm so torn! There's so many pros & cons about both!! Thank you SOO much in advance for your input!

loved the Pop - very close to Studios and Epcot.

has both a pool bar lounge and inside one.

love the food court and gift shop!

however I have only stayed in building 50 - not any of the others for my 3 trips to this resort.

I loved Lady and Tramp when I was little - so having this outside this part of the resort was a BIG plus!!!

How did you find the transportation? My mother seems to be leaning towards ASMo (mainly based on what someone at work is doing haha) but we were thinking of trying POP since DH and I had stayed at ASMo last trip. There are just so many pros and cons to both.

I'm just unsure of what to do as we are only adults - no kids - at these resorts.

How did you find the transportation?

Don't forget, Pop doesn't share a bus with any other resort - once you get on the bus, you go directly to a park, and the same goes for the return trip.

Buses for the All-Stars MAY share with their sister All-Star Resorts - and Movies being the last one in the line, MAY be the last one dropped off and picked up.

When DH & I stayed at ASMo in early November 2000, ASMo had its own bus and ASSp and ASMu shared a bus. Isn't this still the way it is?

Def. POP!!!! Newer beds and rooms, dedicated bus route, wonderful food court.. I have 3 words for you tye-dyed cheescake!!!

It changes - when I was there in Sept 2001 and June 2002, sometimes the resort had its own bus, sometimes it was shared between 2 of them, sometimes all 3. Coming back from the parks at night, you could get a dedicated bus or a shared bus - it varied.

With Pop - no sharing at all.

Well today I called CRO and had my reservation changed from POR to POP. The friends coming with us are dropping off like flies so I decided that having more spending money was better for me as I don't care as much about the size of the room and amenities as I do about just being on Disney property.

So fingers crossed I made the right decision!!
