My girlfriend and I will be headed to WDW from 2/6-2/13 (well I'm 70% sure we will). We were down with some 2 other friends in 2000 for spring break, and stayed in ASMo. Money is a MAJOR factor in our planning. We're doing the Dream Maker Silver Package so we can eat whereever we want (last time, most meal were the ASMo food court).
After getting prices for both ASMo and PO, the PO came up being $450 more expensive for the week. I can't really justify dropping that much more cash for a place to sleep this time. We enjoyed ASMo when we were down.
I'm open to spending he more money, but I need some convincing. Its not like this will be the last time we will be going to WDW, so I say that we stay at ASMo this time again, and next time upgrade.
Last time, we weren't 21 so we couldn't go to PI at all, so we spent a decent amount of time in the room. I think we'll be out most nights this time.
What do you guys think? Am I just being cheap (like my better half says), or am I being reasonable? We don't really want to split the stay between the 2 hotels.
Any comments and advice at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I would save the money and stay at ASMO. I prefer ASMO over POR anyway, so the money is just a bonus.
Good luck deciding!

We are doing the gold dreammaker and staying at ASmo. We looked at CS but for the difference of cost we decided we'd rather do Gold and stay at AS than silver and stay at CS. Also I know Disneyclub is closing but we saved about $400 on our package. This may be a consideration if you really want to stay at a moderate. Also, if you are going to be out quite a bit, do you really need a moderate. I love AS, we have stayed there all 5 visits.
P.S. It is just me and my bf going also.

Save the money!! Really, how much time do you truly spend in the resort? Take the savings and go to Pleasure Island, do some special meals, etc.

Have a great trip.

Stay at ASMo! I like it much better than PO also. It is so much fun, even for two adults.

I liked ASMo much better than POR. The best thing we found at POR is the landscaping. (big deal) We both liked their bakery too. However, the boat ride was convenient since their (lack of) bus service stunk.
I really enjoyed ASMo and everything exceeded my expectations except the too small (and too busy) laundry facility.
