My sister called last night to tell me my mother had her third stroke in four days and the last one was the worst. The doctors have told us that the bleed that they have found is inoperable and she'll probably only last seven to ten days. My sister is going to leave her at the hospital instead of taking her back to the nursing home.
She has told me moms resting comfortably and is in no pain and just waiting for God to take her to be with Dad. I'm meeting with my chief this morning and I already know he's sending me off duty until everything is done can't ask for a better boss.
We haven't told our kids yet but we will and that will be the hardest part. She's had a good long life and my sister has taken care of her from the very first stroke and she has given up a lot to take care of mom and now it's time for my sister to be taken care of.
