Asking for advice with my daughter and school

there's a teacher's daughter in my DD's class, and she's all about having a club and you have to look cute to be in the club.. and all this stuff. my dd came home saying that she was in her club and how excited she was about it b/c she wasn't allowed to be in the club last week because she didn't look cute enough. ???

I didn't have a chance to read all of the posts but I'd sign her up for martial arts. Not so she can beat everyone up, but so that she can gain the confidence she needs to stand up for herself.

I agree with pp's advice...I too just wanted to give you and your DD a big:hug:!! As a parent...this is one of the most heartbreaking things to see happen to your child. I hope that your school steps up and a solution is truly reached that protects your daughter and changes the behaviors of the bullies.

Sorry I am just now coming back to update. It has been crazy around here. The meeting went really well.

The teachers were not aware that there were as many toileting issues as there were as DD would not tell she was dirty, just stay in it until she got home. She only changed at school if they smelled her.

During "cuddle time" with dd I became aware there is some intimidation in the bathroom so she will be escorted by a teacher or parapro to bathroom so she can go and not be scared. Girls would tell her they wanted the stall she was going in, so she would get scared and leave.

More frequent bathroom breaks. We are hoping this will help with accidents as well

We were made aware that there are concentration issues going on at school recently too. This has started since fall break. Its not that DD can't do the work, she is just really easily distracted.

Headaches have also started occuring several times a week. Don't know if it is stress related or vision related. The school is going to put in for a Hearing a vision screening on her ASAP.

Counseling sessions will start ASAP to help DD learn how to stand up for herself and also help her get out some of her bottled up feelings.

The teachers, who are very experienced teachers were very upset that all this was going on. We are all willing to work together to make sure DD is back on track.

That's great that the teachers are being so supportive! I hope things work out better for her soon.
