Asking for a Brother

My 6 yr old Son just came downstairs and gave me a hug..
He said - Mom how come I have to have sisters and no brothers. I told him because God gave me 3 daughters and one son.

He said mom can't we have a brother. I said no. But mom I like my sisters but I really want a brother to play with.



I'm sure this came from yesterday when the twins didnt want to play with him.. His best friend has 2 brothers and one sister - so he thinks his friend has it made.

How cute of him!! So, Linda, are you going to at least TRY to make his wish come true?

My husband has twin brothers who are a year older than him. Growing up, he often asked his mom where HIS twin was. Now THAT would have been tough to fix!

LOL! DS used to tell me he wanted a younger brother. I told him that first we need to find a new dad. Then I informed him that God might give him a sister instead. He didn't want a sister. LOL! Asked if we could send her back and get a boy if that's how it turns out!

Heck having twins was easier then trying to make his wish come true now.
My twins aren't "natural". However I don't have any of the right parts left any more to make babies.. So no, his wish won't be granted.

Of course this is the same kid that complains his birthday is the last birthday. Which it's the last day of the year.. lol

Oh Gosh.. Can I just be so terribly nosey and ask how the twins arent natural? If thats too personal or if Im just dumb, you can tell me....

My son whose 9 keeps asking that question too.. He is now an only child (his sisters died) and he doesnt like it very much, and we keep saying that God will give him a sibling when its the right time-

I say that because we don't have twins that run in either one of our families, or how ever that works.
My twins were due to having taken ferility drugs and other process.

Sorry to hear there's no brother in his future, Linda. Guess you'll have to play up the idea that he's special - he's the only son!! Maybe you could get a male dog??

We tell him that all the time, that we were very lucky that we have him and he is a boy. But I think since the twins are getting older - you know 8.. and don't want him to be a round all the time, is when I can really tell how much younger he is. ( he is almost the same size). He gets lonely and wants someone to play with.. We used to live right next door to his best friend. Now we live a block away, and 2 boys and one his age moved in our old house, so his best friend tends to go over there since it just out the door..


We are VERY lucky to have him.
