Asking about grocery delivery

I hope it's okay to ask this here. I couldn't find a forum that it seemed to fit.
We are staying at Saratoga Springs. 9/9-9/16. Trading our timeshare at Las Vegas for the Disney stay. There is so much great information here but now I wish I would have known about this site months ago. I still have no firmed up plans for meals. We don't eat big meals and there will only be the two of us so we plan to eat on the fly and want to have a couple of "at home" meals too since we will have a full kitchen. Has anyone ordered groceries from "WeGoShop" when they stayed in DW? I understand there will be some stuff available at SS in the snack area that can be purchased and taken but I am wondering about the staple items, milk, bread, cereal and the like. We will be flying in and didn't plan to rent a car this time. Any information or advice would be appreciated!

We used wegoshop last year and had a very good experience, will be using them again this year.

We've used Wegoshop at DW for the last two years and have never had an issue... You will want to get your order into Marge ahead of time so that she can put you on the schedule...

Depending on which day you are arriving, there is one caveat is that where delivers after church on Sunday afternoons. The time can be anywhere from 3:00pm on... Personally, its never affected us negativelly as we never really want to cook on arrival day anyways and check in time isn't guarranteed until 4:00pm.

All of the DVC resorts have sundry stores which carry the basics... Eggs, Milk, Bread, frozen pizzas, beer, etc.. :drinking1 The prices can be quite a bit higher than the local grocery stores, and depending on how much you are planning to buy and how much you plan on eating in the room, the sundry stores may or may not be cheaper.... (We usually eat at least 1-2 meals in the room per day... If we do the parks, we pack lunches to save money that way.. )

Thanks so much for responding. I am starting to get a little nervous that I haven't already taken care of all this. My DH likes to just wing it and I usually micro-manage everything but this time I said we would just go with the flow!
I think I will make out the list of things we need and check with the resort about what time the unit is available, since we won't have an address to deliver to until we get in the unit.

We just got back from SSR and you'll love it. We used garden grocer and loved it. You can go online see pictures and order specific name brands. gardengrocer.com

You will find that technically the villa won't be ready until 4:00. There have been instances where people have been able to get in sooner, not many but a few. All you need to provide is your resort name, your reservation number and your name (obviously). When we used wegoshop a few years back, we arranged a delivery time of about 4:30 or so. The wegoshop people gave us a phone number to call when we got into our room and they arrived about 20 minutes later. Or they can leave the groceries with Bell Services who will store the perishables. But, if that's the case you have to be able to prepay. We didn't...we gave a check to the delivery person.

I went to Green Grocer and picked out what I wanted and put it in my favorites. What a great idea. Now I can just put my stuff in the cart before we go to the airport. So cool, I feel so much better now. We plan to eat all breakfasts, about half our lunches and three dinners at "home". We always feel better doing that, than if we eat fast food or rich food every day of vacation. I think we will save money too. The groceries for the week came out to be about $84 for 2 adults.

Garden Grocer totally rocks! We used them in July this year...and it was so great NOT to have to get to a grocery store. The service we received was over the top and we will definitely call them again for next year to plan ahead.

have a great time!

You won't be disappointed. We did the same thing. I actually submitted my order 2 weeks in advance which eliminated forgetting to do it at the last minute. The website is easy to use filling out the day of arrival and what resort and what delivery time choice. Have fun on your trip!
