Ask Me Anything: Ask CustardTart Anything

Hi Karen

Sorry it's taken me a while to get on to ask you questions.

Did you meet your husband at school and if so, how did you get together?

How old were you when you got married?

Where did you get married?

What was your wedding dress like?

How many bridesmaids did you have?

Laur's princess:

Just glad to have you along, Laur's! :thumbsup2

Yes, I did meet DH at school. We were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend and clicked immediately! That was back in October 1978 and we still celebrate our "together" anniversary...

I was 19 when we got married. :bride:

Birmingham Registry Office...

OMG my wedding dress was yukky! Think 1980's M&S finest and you won't be far wrong...

No bridesmaids, this was one of those speedy civil ceremonies - we just had a couple of friends as witnesses... :sad2:

Hello Karen , sorry I've been so busy not neglectful! a few easy ones from me to start (and apologies if they've already been asked):

what is your favourite park and why
who is your favourite character
which character do you think you are most like
which character do you think sums up each of your children and your DH
which is your favourite Disney movie

Hey don't worry, Annemarie - I might give different answers this time! ;)

Magic Kingdom - I just love that first walk down Main Street with all it's familiar sights, sounds and smells... :cloud9:

Probably Donald - you don't see him too often and I love Philharmagic so much...

Me: Belle
DH, Richard: Beast
DD, Sophie: Lilo
DS, Matty: Lightening McQueen
DS, Samuel: Simba

Favourite movie: Pocahontas - even tho' it always makes me blub...

Afternoon Karen, a few more for you:

are your ears pierced?
do you have any other piercings?
do you have any tatoos? If yes where and what?
apart from anything bad happening to your children (because that's what all mothers worry about, isnt it?) what is your biggest worry?

Yes - tho' they're more slits than holes now. I used to be a psychiatric nurse and one time made the big mistake of coming into work wearing earrings. A patient went a bit nuts and grabbed both my earrings and held on for dear life!!! TBH I was lucky the one didn't go clean thro'!!!

I had my nose pierced some years ago during a drunken Girls Only Day Trip To Brighton! Upon returning, my toddler slapped my face, in the way that toddlers do, and out popped the nose stud - so that was that! :scared:

I would love to have a tattoo! Unfortunately I have psoriasis quite badly and I'm scared of making it worse so I'm holding off for the moment. The minute there's any improvement, I'll be there - I'd love to have a little sunbeam tattoo on my midriff... ;)

My biggest worry is my DH's health - and mine come to think of it! His DD died of a heart attack aged 48 and my DM died of cancer aged 50 so I make sure we eat healthily, exercise and get regular Well-Person check-ups. It's a little scary now we're getting near the ages our parents died but I'm single-minded - I definitely want to celebrate our 60th Wedding Anniversary together!:flower3:

What is the biggest lie you've ever told and who to?
did you confess, were you found out or is it on your conscience?
What's you worst habit?
what's your DH's worst habit?

Hi Karen

What do you do to relax?
Do you speak any languages?
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?

:)

Not sure if this is the biggest but it was pretty bad. We were planning a WDW holiday for the summer of 2004 and had invited DS's DGF to join us when we first started talking about it 12 months previously. They'd been dating for a year or so and she seemed fine. In April 2004, she and Matty went to Spain with my DD and her DBF - it was a disaster! Seems the DGF turned into godzilla and ruined the holiday for Sophie & Joe. When she came back, even DH noticed what a ***** she'd become and I hated the way she talked to my DS. So I cancelled her booking, told her nearer to the time that VH had screwed up and I couldn't rebook as there were no flights left. Harsh, I know, but I wasn't going to have her ruining the hols for everyone else. Obviously I had to keep the truth a secret from DS but as soon as they split up (seems we weren't the only ones who thought she'd turned into the GF from Hell) I confessed to him what I'd done. And he laughed - PHEW!!! :thumbsup2

My worst habit is buying exercise equipment that I probably won't use! :yay:

DH's worst habit is reversing into skips! He's done it 3 times now and caused a lot of expensive damage along the way. Last time was a few weeks ago and even tho' his car's got a reversing camera, he still managed to bash his rear panel to smithereens! :sad2:

I love my car so, if I'm stressed, I go for a drive with my music blasting away and the top down... :car:

I speak relatively decent French - it's a little rusty at the moment tho'...

Paris. I lived there before and can't wait to return. :thumbsup2

How can he possibly not see a skip? :lmao:

How can he possibly not see a skip? :lmao:

Who knows? :confused3 There's a pattern tho' - he consistently does it first thing in the morning when he leaves for work at around 5.50am and the skips themselves are always on our drive. We're due to have substantial building work done over the next few months so more skips on drives for him to avoid... :rotfl:

Hi Karen

What was your favourite toy as a child?

What was your favourite TV programme as a child?

Who was your favourite member of the A-Team?

Did you ever write to Jim'll Fix it, and if so, what did you ask for?

What would you ask for now?

Laur's princess:

My fave toy was probably my dolls house - it had lights, a little family and lots of mini furniture. The roof came off and I used to hide my diary in there which foxed my brother for many years! :rotfl: I also have fond memories of a toy sweet shop set tho' I ate all the supplies in nanosecond... ;)

Easy - The Tomorrow People! L-U-R-V-E-D that programme - I was totally infatuated with one of the lead characters Steven played by Peter Vaughan-Clark. OMG I still remember his name...

Hannibal. I think my Nan had a crush on George Peppard... ;)

Yes! :thumbsup2 I wrote in to ask to meet the cast and be in an episode of The Tomorrow People. Obviously this was a front for me to start stalking Steven (aka PVC) and sadly I never received a reply...

I'd ask to meet the original cast of The Tomorrow People and let the stalking belatedly commence! No, of course not! :lmao: Seriously, I'd see if Jim could fix it for my biggest DS to become a sports journalist... :thumbsup2

Which Celebrity would you :rolleyes1 ?

Which Polictian would you :rolleyes1 ?

Which Singer would you :rolleyes1 ?

When was your last :rolleyes1 ?

Sorry if these go too far; I am not as mean as my Mother Carol!

P.s. same to Kristie

Matt, I'm shocked! ;) But if I must, I must... :rotfl:

Jean-Christophe Novelli. Saw him on The Apprentice follow-up show last night - OMG he's so gorgeous I think my DH even fancies him!!!

I don't think there's a politician alive that could ever tempt me - unless Jean-Christophe stood for election... :scared1:

I can't really think of any singers I'd :rolleyes1 - Monsieur Novelli hasn't released a record has he??? Got it (and how could I forget?) Lemar - he's flippin' gorgeous too... :cloud9:

I'm afraid I never kiss and tell! :cool2: Well, not without a couple of glasses of wine or at 4.26pm on a Thursday afternoon! Maybe I'll come back to that one later... ;)

Hey there Ma! Thought I'd pop in and ask you some meaningful questions.

Who would play you in the film of your life?

Who would play Daddy? Don't forget J-CN is not an actor!

What's your favorite breed of dog?

What are you most looking forward to in our October trip?

Bye for now.

Hi Karen

What is your current favourite song?

What is your all time favourite song?

What song describes you?

What is the best gig you have ever been to?

What is your favourite musical?

Laur's princess:

Hello Karen,

when was the last time you were drunk?
what's the worst thing you've done whilst under the influence?
have you ever been so drunk you can't remember how you got home?
have any of your children been seriously drunk?

Me again, it's my lunch break so I'm getting them all in whilst I can:

Can you roll your tongue
Wink with both eyes or just one - if just one which one
are you left or right handed
do you have one foot bigger than the other
which side of the bed do you sleep on
what is your favourite sandwich filling
do you and your DH have pet names for each other
Have you ever 'let off' and not let on?
have you ever 'let off' and blamed someone else?
and finally, have you ever laughed so hard you leaked?

Sophie! Lovely to hear from you. :thumbsup2

Possibly Eva Longoria...

George Clooney - they've both got that distinguished greying look going on...

Well, as you know, I've got a soft spot for Boxers but our Old English Sheepdog ladies have been fantastic so I'll opt for them...

I'm very excited about the whole Food & Wine thing - can't wait to eat (and drink) our way around the world! I'm also looking forward to watching you have your surfing lesson in TyphLag! :lmao: Should be a hoot!

okay last one (for the moment  )

What has been your greatest achievement to date
What is the most difficult situation you have had to face and how did you tackle it
What is your greatest weakness?
Do you believe in God?
If you could ask God one question what would it be? and what would you like the answer to be?
