Ask a Webmaster- here's a chance to ask anything you've been wondering about!

Hang out on the PMS thread, we'll take care of that really quickly. :cool2:

Here's a question. Why are some words okay and others not? Like I can use ******* but can't use the last three letters alone.

Maybe the search dictionary isn't set up with that whole word? Bass is an allowed word, so they couldn't do "anything ending with an a and two s's"?

Certain plurals of female chest ornaments are interestingly censored, too.

I need that. Hubby just can't fathom the fact that I can (and have) fall into the toilet while half-asleep in the middle of the night.

Hubby has started worrying about bathroom sanitation now that his little girl is toilet-training. And, yes, I am referring to Fiona, not me!

Shag.

The secret is a shag-like fuzzy toilet seat cover...you know, the things that come with matching rugs usually? The thicker the better...once you put it on the toilet lid, the seat will not stay up without being held because of the thickness of the lid cover pressing on it. They have to hold the lid up and then it will automatically close for you :rolleyes1

Why should you be inconvenienced in the middle of the night, that's a man's job. ;)

That word isn't okay, it's just not in the word filter. We can't possibly put every permutation of every rude word or every version of a profanity in there.

Even though it's a mild profanity, it's still not appropriate language for our forums. :)

Profanities or crude and insulting language is never appropriate here.

The truth is that signature problems are a huge pain for all of us. Enormous signatures are problematic for a lot of reasons: bandwidth and loading speed (we still have many posters on dial-up connections), as well as a distracting waste of screen space. How many times have you read a thread where many of the signatures are much larger and louder than the content of the posts?

I am a moderator on the TR and PreTrip Reports Board. This explanation should be in the guidelines for me to copy and paste when I get, but why, but why, but why.

I just read all 25 pages too, I enjoyed this thread Kathy.

Is that, like, a challenge???? (where's the devil smilie when you need it)

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!!! FORGET I SAID THAT!!!!

How do you feel about gifted kids :lmao: I'm waiting for fisticuffs

Yeah, we all think our kids are special, but "gifted" is a label thrown around an awful lot to simply mean "possibly a little brighter than average." I feel that parents and schools have to work together to educate our kids. My opinion is that the schools have to teach the best they can to the common denominator, and it's up to PARENTS to recognize the unique and individual needs of their own kids, and to find ways to continue sparking the imaginations of their kiddos on their own.

I feel sorry for the teachers of all the "gifted" kids and the crazy demands made on them by parents who demand special treatment.

Okay, either you don't have the nifty moderator graphic thingy in your tag space or you have been afflicted with the same thing kaylajr has and I can't see yours either!:lmao:

Kathy I need to scream and it is DIS related. Can I just scream in here? I need to be somewhere safe :headache:

Well, I teach gifted youngsters, along with many other special children. The thing is in my school, we don't have demanding parents as a rule. In fact, it's a struggle to get them identified. They are generally more known for the negative characteristics of an unchallenged, unfocused true gifted child than they are for academic excellence. There are certain specific behavioral traits and emotional anxieties they tend to exhibit that make for challenges in the classroom. These are of course, children who are truly registering in the top 2 percent on verbal and nonverbal tests of ablilities for age.

Just so you know that was just an example! :flower3: It was a discussion we had one night when we realized we could use certain words like that.

:rotfl2:

Oh, SUUuuurrrre, ;)

Hey, I'm not the one who actually discovered it! ;) Although I do have to admit that I have used it, but only about people not on the Dis, I have refrained from that. I try to use my points for good! :rotfl:
