ASIMO coming to Epcot July 1-11

ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility), the world's most advanced humanoid robot, will host demonstrations at the World ShowPlace pavilion at Epcot from July 1-11.


Guests can experience a live, 25-minute demonstration of ASIMO's technical abilities, including walking forward and backward, turning smoothly, balancing on one leg, dancing and climbing stairs. The show also will explore how engineers developed ASIMO, explain the challenges of creating humanoid robots and investigate potential future applications for robotic technologies.



ASIMO is the result of more than 18 years of research by Honda engineers.

Guests may visit the AISMO demonstration at the following times.
-- July 1 -- 2:30, 4, 5 and 7 p.m.
-- July 3-5 -- 2:30, 4, 5 and 7 p.m.
-- July 4 -- 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.
-- July 5-8 -- 2:30 p.m., 4, 5 and 7 p.m.
-- July 10-11 -- 2:30, 4, 5 and 7 p.m.

The ASIMO demonstration is included with regular theme park admission.

We just saw "him" yesterday. It was really cool. My DS was picked as a volunteer to go up on stage with two other children. It was a highlight of our trip since he has seen the show about ASIMO on the Discovery Channel, and is very interested in robots.
