Our character meals are booked. We are looking for 2 fun dinner restaurants to take the family with kids ages 5 and 6. Would love to hear your suggestions- thanks!

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge is very entertaining for the kids. Also, Ohana dinner @ Poly (no characters) is also good for the kids. I like both restaurants!

Hoop dee doo Review:lovestruc I still remember doing this when I was little its the longest running show at DW so much fun, food outstanding, great show

When we stay at the Wilderness Lodge we always book a meal at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. Make sure to ask for Ketchup if you go. ;)

Our son also LOVED T-Rex and Coral Reef.

Make sure not to overlook Garden Grove they do not take Disney Dining Plan but it is worth the $35 a person. The buffet is great, the dining room is quiet, and you can use the DDP for a breakfast!

Sci Fi is one choice, I did not enjoy my last meal there but the kids should like it. If they are sports fans try stopping in at the ESPN club. In EPCOT Tappen Edo is a good choice we last ate there when my poys were 6 and 8, they loved it.

Hoop Dee Doo - fun show, DS laughed non-stop, good food, comical waitress.

Coral Reef - ask for table next to the aquarium window.

Biergarten - good buffet, fun if they would enjoy listening to German music and maybe dancing.

Sci-Fi Diner - good food if you stick with sandwiches, fries, burgers etc... DS really likes sitting in the car and watching the old monster movie clips.

DD and my niece really liked Coral Reef last time we where there. This time around I think we are going to try Whipering Canyon too.

ohana's, sci fi, 50s prime time cafe, the dinner shows (poly or hoop). my granddaughter 5 last year when we went loved flying fish, we sat at the counter area where she could see them cooking.

Sci-Fi is AMAZING! The atmoshpere is so cool and the burgers are very good. :thumbsup2

Coral Reef is beautiful. :cloud9:

Whispering Canyon Cafe is really fun!

My kids like Ohana for dinner (no characters), They like Coral Reef so they can watch the fish swim while they eat, Sci Fi is fun as well. The kids enjoy it. The Hoop De Doo is also fun.

If your children are 5 and 6, they may not "get" the Sci Fi. My 7 year old was kind of creeped out by some of the clips, and the food was AWFUL.

My daughter actually loved the California Grill. They make an amazing kid's fruit boat and they have the cutest desserts. The Rice Krispie Sushi dessert was the cutest and most inventive we had the whole week. Plus, the view can't be beat, and if you time it right you can watch the fireworks from the view deck.

I know it's a signature, but there were a TON of kids there, so don't worry about that part.

T-Rex in DTD is my kids favorite. They also like Ohana for dinner, Coral Reef, Sci-Fi and 50's PT.

On our last trip, or younger DDs were 5 & 10. They absolutely loved 50s Prime Time! They "got" the humor there and really like the food. They also enjoy Whispering Canyon & Hoop Dee Doo. While they like the atmosphere & fun and games at 'Ohana, they really don't care for the food. (I have since found out that you can request more standard kid friendly mac & cheese, chicken strips, etc.)

DD3 and DS8 really enjoyed Tepan Edo this year.

We went last year, but DD3 was scared of the fire, but they didn't do it this year. Our chef made the greatest volcano ever. It was a Mickey Mouse holding a Mickey Mouse balloon on the grill. He also swapped hats with my DD8 and posed in this mad ninja chef picture with my DD8. It was great entertainment and awesome food. The female servers played with DD3 too.

Can't beat the Hoop Dee Doo.

My kids favs are WCC, Ohana, Sci Fi and HDDR. They have Coral Reef on their list to try. They liked 50's but they would have loved it more if we had a server who was really into it. The did get a kick out of the servers around us who were.

I can't wait to show this picture to my kids! We ate there twice a couple of weeks ago. Both of our chefs were amazing, but nothing like that! WOW!!! :thumbsup2

Another vote for Whispering Canyon Cafe. They really seem to do a great job at interacting with kids.
