So Ashley Judd is speaking out against Sarah Palin for allowing aerial hunting of wolves in parts of Alaska - a practice that has gone on long before Palin was governor. While I don't like aerial hunting, I also know that wolves are NOT endangered in Alaska and they do eat the moose and caribou that native Alaskans need to survive. I thought the ad was effective, albeit one-sided. What do you think? Should Alaskans decide how best to managed their wildlife...or should Ashley Judd? :smokin: Thoughts, please.

Alaskans should decide, but Judd and others should be free to offer their opinions.

Do Alaskans support Palin anymore since she made fools of herself, some Alaskans 'n the Republican party?

We'll know when the next election comes around, won't we.

agnes!

Damn, I thought this was going to be a "Who's Hotter?" thread.

I've always thought that celebrities have no business opening their mouths about politics. If you support a candidate or a certain issue, fine, but do it out of the limelight. But don't go spouting off to me what you may or may not think is "right." The majority of celebrities never finished high school or college, so I have a hard time listening to them as a voice of authority (disclaimer: I don't know Ashley Judd's background, I'm speaking generally.) And if they did, they probably didn't major in poly sci or economics, thus, they are not an expert and are exploiting their celebrity status.

Disagree with me if you want, it's just a pet peeve of mine when I see a celebrity on my television going on and on about a candidate or an issue. I think to myself, "really? what makes you an expert on this?" Whether or not I agree with them. But people listen to them because of who they are. And I whole-heartily believe that is wrong. Then again I'm not an expert either... :rolleyes1

sure, why not:confused3 as long as Palin gets to pick out Judd's next movie:)

Yikes, you think Ashley Judd is an expert in politics?
And worse, only experts get to speak up about government?

Alaskians do decide, they get to vote! Ms. Judd gets to voice her opinion because she is a citizen (you know, it's that pesky free speech thing). Ms Judd just has a much wider audience than Ms. Palin.

:lmao: :rotfl2:

I have no opinion on Alaska hunting laws. I don't live in Alaska, I don't hunt in Alaska, I've never even BEEN to Alaska.

If the good people of Alaska want to change their laws, I think they can probably decide on the issue without my (or Ashley Judd's) input.

I've spent enough time around Ms. Judd covering the races that her husband has been in to not really care what she thinks. I'm not too big on "Hollywood entitlement" types. I know a guy that was affiliated with the team that Dario was driving for when he started dating Ashley. The crew members were told that when she came out into the pits that they were to avoid making eye contact with her and to only speak to her when spoken to. She also used to bring bodyguards with her into the pits and they'd at times get into your face if you pointed a camera in her general direction. Another time, she was working the "pit board" position for the team during a race and she tried to tell the press that they weren't "allowed" to take photos of her out in "no man's land" in the pits.

We all have a right to speak our minds, but some seem to get more attention than others, even if they have no clue about what they're speaking of. I guess that's what celebrities do between gigs.

I can't tell if you're agreeing with me, or trying to start a debate.:rotfl:

While I don't like hunting, I understand its purpose in some parts of the world. What I don't like, is unfair to the animal hunting. Aerial hunting is completely unfair. The animal has absolutely no chance.

If Alaskians can have helicopters available for hunting, then they are not so remote and removed that they need to be living off the land in an unfair manner. Get out there and hoof it the old fashioned way.

Ashley Judd is actually pretty educated. I'm not sure she graduated, but she was Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Kentucky.

As well as some message board posters in between sigs. ;)

FTR, she does have a Phi Beta Kappa key from the University of Kentucky. She's far from dumb, but I do think she's doesn't know what she's talking about here.

As far as who's hotter....toss up. I wouldn't mind looking like either. My guess is Palin is healthier/fitter though.

I am totally uneducated on almost anything hunting, but do the animals ever really have a chance? Aren't the just as dead if they are shot at from the ground as a helicopter?
