Ashes spread in WDW

Hey, scattering ashes in WDW doesn't sound like a bad idea. What I really would like is to have a diamond made out of my cremains so dh could wear part of me with him always. Then when we both die, dd can have a nice pair of earrings ;) . Hubby was creeped out by the idea and said he wouldn't wear it, so maybe floating around WDW could be my plan B.

Twitch you know this because........................

I'm a pastor... :) I've done a scattering at sea, and was quite surprised at how much material there was to "scatter."

It ended up being more like a pouring by the time the family was done.

(Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure that we weren't 3 miles off-shore either...

My parents told me that when they pass they want me to spread their ashes in the 7 seas lagoon so they can travel throughout WDW in spirit, I myself would like to be spread in WDW, specifically the ToT so I can go to the twilight zone and come back again with the others who vanished into the twilight zone.

I've never really thought about doing this before, but it sounds like a wonderful idea.

I myself, hope to have tons of years ahead of me, but it's an interesting thought.

Although, WDW might one day become deserted...and I wouldn't want to spend eternity in some deserted park. =[

The poster who indicated the relative size of the cremains was right, and also, despite TV sitcom scenarios where someone tries to scatter 'ashes' and they are blown in their face, etc etc - the cremains usually have identifiable chunks of bone matter in them. They are not 'ashes' in the sense that most people think of.

Forgive me if someone else has already mentioned this, but if you tell the crematorium that you intend the scatter the ashes, they will post-process them in a mill to get rid of the larger bits. The uniform result is like coarse sand, and it will indeed blow back all over you if you mis-judge the wind direction. (Unfortunately I found this out the hard way.)

If you don't have the ashes milled you may end up with bits that are recognizable as bone fragments.

just came upon this thread and haven't had time to read it all. we scattered DH nebo's mom's ashses in the smoky mountains (she loved it there) on one of our trips. and Nebo wants to be in disney forever himself (well, actually, heaven, but you know what I mean... his body)
what are the legal parameters? if this was mentioned earlier, I'll go back and check. myself? take whatever organs anyone needs, then spread the rest of me over seven sea lagoon. then my grandkids can think of me every time they visit. and my soul will be in heaven with Jesus, looking down and smiling.:cloud9:

That is exactly what I thought about when I read this. I could see someone very lovingly and reverently tossing out the ashes and a CM come along right behind with one of those huge street cleaning vacuums!!!

if anyone has read DH Nebo's trip reports and read about his mishaps. this would be JUST the thing that would happen to him!:lmao:

I just told DH to put my ashes in the seven seas lagoon and his response, "I ain't going back to Disney World without you!"
So nice to know he cares.:lmao:
:cheer2:

how sweet !!!! hear that Nebo?!? you disperse my ashes with a NEW honey and I'll find a way to pull her in with me!!! :rotfl2:

My friends keep saying they are going to take a little of me every 6 months and sprinkle me here and there throughout the whole World.

I thnk they are just using me as a cheesy excuse for a avaction. ;)

what a great plan! I'll put it in my will It's the ONLY way I'll ever get my grown sons to go back to disney with me!
