I like it. Right now I'm feeling sad since my October trip is "only" 12 nights and that I see that in writing I feel like a spoiled brat! But it is a long way from CA so I should get my moneys worth out of the plane ticket! Right? :confused3

Mine usually start out at 12 nights and then keep growing. Flying for free is not always free. It's waayyy too easy to tack on nights as the trip gets closer. Of course sometimes the day you want to fly the flights are full so you have to leave a day or two early or stay a extra day. I think I would save money if I bought plane tickets. It would also eliminate about 70% of my changes if I was locked into certain days.

It's 3 large scoops of ice cream with all the toppings you want. My boys get a little carried away with the toppings. You're raising boys so you know how much they eat.

Yeah stay postitive about the Poly. It is old, but our rooms have always been in great shape. I don't get the where the 70's flashback thing comes from. The lounge is great. I hope you like polynesian asian type food. I miss the punch already. I really can't emphasize enough how great the location is. If you spend a lot of time at the pool like we do it's so convenient.

Oh how I LOVE aisan inspired food!! mmmmmm :lovestruc

That sundae sounds like something my teens would be into.....they would definitely have to share!
Where do we get it again??

Padawans :welcome: home. Sounds like you had a great time, I can not believe how fast the time went

Hope everyone had a wonderful day. I had my yearly physical ugh. Have I mentioned I hate Drs.?

All this talk about US definitely has me wanting to head there in 2014.

I can beat MM not having visited there since 2000. Last time there for us was 1996 before the hotels, before the parking garage, before IOA but I have to do WDW at Christmas first ;)

BACK TO RC-ing: :scratchin I need help with picking a US/IoA Resort. We will do a night at WDW with my bro at CSR (his choice and I promised I wouldn't change it this time :rotfl:) and then I want to switch to US/IoA. Any help in this foreign territory for me would be greatly appreciated. :hippie:
We stayed at RPR the last two times. I loved the theme and how close it is to IOA. The rooms, however, are small. We are booked in a deluxe room at the PBR this year. The did not have any rooms available at HRH which is where we really wanted to stay.

What day do you get to the Poly and how long are you staying?

We are booked at the BC now, not the Poly. I tried to change my ticker but couldn't. Out trip is from 8/15 - 8/25 our 10 nights are split between PBR and BC. We will hit US, IOA, Seaworld and Aquatica then 6 days of Disney. I hear that a lot of us will be at the world. Maybe we can have a quick meet.

This is a pathetic mulit-quote, so my apologies to anyone I left out - I tried to include everyone, but we all know how posts seem to evaporate! :confused3

I'll be posting live for 13 days so you'll have a lot of info to base your decision on. :goodvibes

Oh.my.gosh. Please, please, God, don't let me be so jealous!!! ;) Very happy for you, Dani - it sounds like absolute perfection.:cloud9:

I like it. Right now I'm feeling sad since my October trip is "only" 12 nights and that I see that in writing I feel like a spoiled brat! But it is a long way from CA so I should get my moneys worth out of the plane ticket! Right? :confused3

Hey, makes perfect sense to me....but then I'm not trustworthy when it comes to vacation planning.:thumbsup2 Do wish I could be as comfortable solo as you are, GG. I had 2 days solo and was teary-eyed the entire time. Wimp, I know.:guilty:

Yes. It will be different for us and relaxing. :lovestruc I forgot to mention we DO have ADRs for breakfast at the AK Rainforest, lunch at Sci Fi, and dinner at Via Napoli... so I guess we must leave Poly sometime. ;) Maybe we can lump all three of these together on one day and get them out of the way so we can get back to Poly asap! :lmao: I also snagged a Chef Mickey and a Whispering Canyon for just in case Spirit of Aloha is canceled due to rain and storms (daily in FL in late August) so that we have a nearby backup plan.

Here comes that darn green again! As much as I truly am happy for your Poly stay, my heart skips a sad beat everytime I think of the resort...I swear, I can smell GCH as I type.:cloud9:

Hope you and Dani enjoy a LapuLapu together - have one for me! :thumbsup2

As much as possible! Mostly iPhone shots because I won't e able to process my DSLR photos while down there. I'm only bringing an iPad.

Magic I'm pretty sure we are at 'Ohana that night! I will check when I get home.

Cannot wait to see the pics, Dani!! It would be great if you and Magic have a chance to meet! :woohoo:

The first MVMCP is 12/9 and I think I read the first Osborne Lights is 12/10. It looks like DHS is closing early on 11/13 at 6pm for a private party.

All the parks will be decorated from what I understand although the big tree on Main St in MK does not go up until after the parade tapping, the first weekend in Dec.

As far as the resorts they are last to be decorated so that can be iffy before Thanksgiving.

Can not wait to see what you decide for sure.

Oh, my...that is unusally late for Osborne Lights - those are usually up well before Thanksgiving and CP begins around the 1st week of December. The Studios & MK were completely decorated well before Thanksgiving, but EPCOT was still a work in progress.

MK resorts will definitely be decorated for the weekend before Thanksgiving and Epcot resorts by Thanksiving.:thumbsup2

:goodvibes Speaking of crappy moms...I'm letting HRH play hooky from group today. Which means no social skills group until we get back...she hates it (too many rowdy, loud boys) and I miss her..I need a cuddle day. Work stinks, getting out super duper late, and even my Katie had th mother of all meltdowns yesterday...broke my heart. We need family time AND vacation ASAP ::yes::

Awww.....but...newsflash!! You are not a bad mother! I know you know that, but please don't even breath those words when thinking of yourself and your munchkins! Got that straight now???
This time next week will be my "freak the freak out, I need to packapalooza we are leaving today, OMG" hurricane at the Pas house :cool1:
But what fun it will be!!!:dance3:

You are an angel, a gift to those who know you ! Hope Sophia is feeling better today!

Aww....we don't want this to go to my head or I'll be impossible to live with...or vacation with!!:rotfl2:

Karen!!!!! YAY!!! MISSED YOU! BEEN WORRIED!!! WELCOME BACK....now...details about August please... OH and I did change a little. Moved POR to after RPR for 2 NIGHTS!!!! :cool1:

Karen, I've missed you too! It's just not the same without all our orginal RC family! SO Happy to see you here!!:yay:

Welcome home padawans! So good to see you stepdisney!

Great day to see so many of our RCers!! :grouphug:

Happy Thursday!!!! :cheer2:

Hope everyone had a wonderful day. I had my yearly physical ugh. Have I mentioned I hate Drs.?
Hope all is well Sheila...and as I recal you like the Dr. almost as much as I do :lmao:

We were upgraded to a PBH Deluxe room WE LOVED IT!!! (we had a connecting 2Q room with floor to ceiling windows...it was amazing. I polled the family about changing to Hard Rock, and everyone wants to stay at RPR now :goodvibes

So some changes (and some changes back) DH caught wind of a WDW visit, and made me cancel...well guilted me into it, so I reluctantly did....

my beach girl DD5 said, you know Daddy I don't want to go to the regular Beach...I want to see the Tiana rooms. And I am not happy now.....

guess what happens when Daddy's little princess wants something....

New itinerary...

Leave Wed. night for Fla...

Arrive at Jacksonville Beach...chill on the beach, let Daddy rest up...
Friday~check into Condo, more chilling...
Sat & Sun. SeaWorld
Monday (DD's birthday) check into RPR :yay: 5 nights....
Saturday..POR RR for 3 nights :cool1:

Then we drive home...instead of Myrtle Beach, my new goal is a quick stop off I95 so we aren't tortured driving straight through going home?

My DH said no visiting the WDW parks since I am going in August...we shall see about that ;)

christine Speaking of vanishing multquotes....I know I'm not a bad mom, but I don't know if letting her play hooky from group is a good example...but oh what fun we had playing on the swingset instead :cloud9:

I like it. Right now I'm feeling sad since my October trip is "only" 12 nights and that I see that in writing I feel like a spoiled brat! But it is a long way from CA so I should get my moneys worth out of the plane ticket! Right? :confused3
Absolutely right Mama :thumbsup2
I just wanted to say that I had a most un-magical CRO CM today. He sounded younger, un-interested, and wanted to get me off the phone. He said his name so fast, but I think it started with a D.

It was hard enough giving up the Polynesian honeymoon suite for Art of Animation.... a little kindness and love would have been nice :lmao: I wish I could call and ask for Passion everytime. She's great, lol. Is it bad when we start to know their names?? There's one I hang up on too, lol--and older guy that always puts DH as the lead guest and messes everything up.

That's all, just a vent. I feel like calling to change, and just change back to hear someone nice talk to me :
:lmao: Sunset is my favorite and another CM mental block with names...she always remembers me, she has 5 kids, 2 share bday with mine....last call I found out I have 30 kids  they have the name names too....one is named christine....:rotfl2:

Thanks pas130, I look forward to hearing all about RPR. I am a sucker for a boat too. ::yes:: Are there other discounts to be had or is Rack Rate more common there? We won't do APs for sure (we may like it too much and then another AP monster will have been created). I live too close and it is toooo dangerous. I found that out with my WDW AP. ;)
APs are dangerous....:lmao: There's stay more save more rate too. I did get a PIN too once..and there are FL. resident discounts too!!!!
I haven't been to US/IOA since 2000!!!! :scared1: Back when DH and I were just poor college kids...:rotfl2: IOA was awesome!!! We still talk about the Hulk roller coaster!!! We haven't taken the girls yet because they are still a bit too small for most of them...even though my DD8 is super tall, she's not quite 54" yet and my little peanut DD5 is only 42", she can't even do Space Mountain yet!

I think our trip in Feb 2014 (yes, already planning that one too  ) will involve a split with US/IOA, the girls will be 7 and almost 10 at that point! They should be big enough!
My poor Bree is only 39 inches...she wants to ride therides so bad:sick:

I haven't stayed at RPR, I really love the Hardrock. The Yc was great. It was just a little different atmosphere than the Poly. I would'nt hesitate to stay there again. Unfortunately, I think I will have to book a LV now. I got spoiled. I'm so glad Poly didn't upgrade me to a LV. If you do switch to HRH make sure you visit emack and Bolios. $6.50 for a Manic Sunday that is big enough to feed all five kids. It's the best deal in Orlando.

WE WILL check it out even if we don't stay there. THANKS!

Hope all is well Sheila...and as I recal you like the Dr. almost as much as I do :lmao:

WE WILL check it out even if we don't stay there. THANKS!

I like your new itinerary! :thumbsup2

Oh, so you have a peanut too! This will be the girls 3rd trip, but the first time that DD5 willbe able to go on most of the rides. She is sooooo excited!!! :yay:

But, she has seen a lot of shows at WDW that DD8 has not because while one of us is riding with the DD8, the other usually takes DD5 to a show...it will be nice not to have to split up all the time this time around. :goodvibes

Pas: I like it! POR has a great feel to it--and even if you don't get to the parks (which you will, lol) it will be great. There's lots to do there, and Boatwright's was even a pretty great meal!

I wish I could hop in your suitcase!

Hi RCers! :wave2: Than you so much for ALL the US/IoA information! I really appreciate it. I have been taking lots of notes. :coffee: There is so much to try and digest. Once I get a handle on it I am sure I will be back with more questions. I saw FL res 3-day passes for $99 but the offer end June 30, so no good for me. :sad2:

I like it. Right now I'm feeling sad since my October trip is "only" 12 nights and that I see that in writing I feel like a spoiled brat! But it is a long way from CA so I should get my moneys worth out of the plane ticket! Right? :confused3
Suuuuuuuuure, I wholeheartedly agree with anything you say. :thumbsup2

Sunday Maniac is 3 large scoops of ice cream with all the toppings you want. ... I don't get the where the Poly 70's flashback thing comes from.
The Maniac Sunday sounds like a party in a parfait dish!... I give quizzical looks when I hear 70s flashback comments about Poly. I've seen posts, and I heard it from friends who stayed there this past December, It was their 1st trip back since their honeymoon 30 years ago. They said it hadn't changed and it was so old and 70s. Beats me, I'm just not seeing it. :confused3

PadawansI can beat MM not having visited there since 2000. Last time there for us was 1996 before the hotels, before the parking garage, before IOA but I have to do WDW at Christmas first ;)
Sounds about same as me. US was the only thing there the last time I visited. I was heart sick when I found out I just missed Jaws closing. Hope your Dr appt went well. :)

Here comes that darn green again! As much as I truly am happy for your Poly stay, my heart skips a sad beat everytime I think of the resort...I swear, I can smell GCH as I type. :cloud9: Hope you and Dani enjoy a LapuLapu together - have one for me! :thumbsup2
Aaaaargh. I still am feeling so bad, because I thought you and Rosie's Deluxe WDW trip was a sure thing. Would have remained YC and not have convinced my crew to do Poly, so then you and I could have used my Poly ressie. :sad1:

So some changes (and some changes back) DH caught wind of a WDW visit, and made me cancel...well guilted me into it, so I reluctantly did....New itinerary... My DH said no visiting the WDW parks since I am going in August...we shall see about that ;)
Wait. :scared1: I missed the August WDW trip!!! Please remind me of the details pronto-burger!! :woohoo: You're new itinerary sounds great! So last time I checked POR RR IS at WDW, and 3 days IS a LONG time to be sooooo close to WDW parks. :rolleyes1 I am being bad. ;) But seriously, we did POR last August and spent some quality pool time. The pool was big enough and had nice amount of shaded chairs, had that swell pool bar;) and had lots of pool activites for the kiddies. I am such a softie for POR. It really is a fun and relaxing resort. :thumbsup2

Hope all is well Sheila...and as I recall you like the Dr. almost as much as I do :lmao:

OMG, we are a club! I changed my oncologist app't from May to July and will changing from July to late November or early December when hopefully, I will finally have insurance...think the way it goes is I'll get tp pay for Medicare and figure out what the heck A B C &D means???:confused3

LOVE LOVE LOVE the new itinerary!!! 3 ngts in a RR!! :woohoo: (what is RPR??)

Where do you think you'll stop? We are trying to figure out a couple of nice stops on the way down and back (Gulf side, June 2-9th...and guess who I'll get to have lunch with and get a cooks tour of the area???). Anyway, we'll have the pups too, so it has to be someplace we can take them - know of any especially nice rest stops...I am not sure FL has anyone after the welcome center....it is going to be a long 12 hours.....

My DH said no visiting the WDW parks since I am going in August...we shall see about that ;)

He is just trying to convince himself..he knows better, of course. ::yes::

christine Speaking of vanishing multquotes....I know I'm not a bad mom, but I don't know if letting her play hooky from group is a good example...but oh what fun we had playing on the swingset instead :cloud9:

Just as important!!!

:rotfl: How wonderful for me - and now I get to stay CL all the time!!! :dance3:

APs are dangerous....:lmao: There's stay more save more rate too. I did get a PIN too once..and there are FL. resident discounts too!!!!
My poor Bree is only 39 inches...she wants to ride the rides so bad:sick:

Awww....

APs are deadly - every year I had an AP, every couple of months a long Disney weekend felt like a necessity to get my moneys worth! And Disney has the nerve to treat their most dedicated guests with a 5% discount at some resorts. Thinking I should boycott and not buy an AP this year - that'll show 'em! (not that I was going to, but it did cross my mind once or twice).

Hi RCers! :wave2:

Aaaaargh. I still am feeling so bad, because I thought you and Rosie's Deluxe WDW trip was a sure thing. Would have remained YC and not have convinced my crew to do Poly, so then you and I could have used my Poly ressie. :sad1:

NO, no, please do not feel bad! Remember, we realized the dates didn't match up after all! (but if you figure our otherwise, you know where to find me.:rotfl:)

sjs, the best thing about the yearly physical, is it is over :yay:

AND I can beat sjs and mousemommy, I have NEVER been to US  I am such a Disneyholic that once I get down to the Orlando area, I head straight for WDW and don't leave until I have to go home :goodvibes

pas, I like the new itinerary! I would have been shocked if you could go within miles of WDW and not spend at least a little time there! Plus, you need to visit our beloved GF :cloud9: with HRH. I will be curious to hear what she thinks about the construction if you two get over there this trip. AND YOU ARE NOT a bad mommy for letting HRH play hooky from group. Spending the afternoon on the swingset sounds like a much better plan to me

Grumpy Grandma, when you are flying to WDW all the way across the country from California you definitely need to get your money's worth...and I am not sure 12 nights is enough ;)

Minnie&Nana, it's okay to be a little bit green. We need to get you to WDW soon...

Everyone else :wave2:

I am a picture poster on other threads. So how about one of my favorite spot at the Poly since a lot of you have trips to the Poly coming up.

Great minds and hearts! I do not want to see a real street, shop, Mall...nothing other than Disney Resorts, buses, monorails, shops, parks and restaurants. ::yes:

Minnie&Nana, it's okay to be a little bit green. We need to get you to WDW soon...

Aww....RCers are so sweet and thoughtful.

Working on a plan...so far nothing has hatched, but one never knows.:thumbsup2

Be still my heart! Thank you, thank you, JC! Please share more photos here too? :flower:

I haven't been to US since 2000. I'm fine with that. I'm not into coasters and thrill rides. I pretty much put US on a 6 Flags level. Nothing can be as good as WDW!

Padawans :welcome: home. Sounds like you had a great time, I can not believe how fast the time went

You should really give US a try. They have a lot of rides that are better than anything at Disney. The hotels are less expensive and nicer than most Disney deluxe resorts. The customer service is just as good if not better. The landscaping is gorgeous. The front of the line passes are :cloud9: No need to make Adr's. I would never compare Universal to a 6 flags. Uhh did I mention it's not overpriced like Disney. I love Disney, but Universal is top notch for a lot less money.

pas I like the new itinerary chill time on the way down might be a good option for DH. I can almost hear your girls cries of delight when they see the royal rooms.

All went well at the Drs except she thinks I need to see someone for my Depression, if they could bring back my sons I would go as that is the only thing which would help. She dropped the subject pretty quick after I said that.

Sarah Never been to US :faint:

MAGIC I was sad to when they announced Jaws was closing, I still remember what a big deal it was when it first opened

Christine Medicare is enough to make your head spin, check into the companies in your area that offer Medicare HMO's. There are so many various plans out there it is mind boggling

One of my pet peeves is when anyone, professional or "friend" thinks we can solve the saddness of losing our child by either discussing it with someone who hasn't a clue or giving us drugs.

You have lost 2 children in less time than you could even begin to come to grips with the loss of Jason. It took me 6 years to even be able to leave the house alone, other than for work. If DD or my closest friend did not convince me to go with them, I was not ready to do things on my own. Just as I was testing the water, so to speak, we moved here...where I became isolated, not friends, no way to get out...it did not help my grieving...but now, almost 6 yrs later, I am much better. I can promise you that the pain will change, it will get softer and your heart will be able to feel joy again...but it is a journey ...one we must walk alone. One thing that very much helped was attending a Bereaved Parents Conference twice - it was not easy to go, but it was amazing. Every bereaved parent would be helped to attend one, especially the smaller one by Bereaved Parents USA. Or perhaps try to go to one of the local or regional meetings/gatherings. It is so different than we ever expected...we laughed so hard we cried. Hang on the best you can...in time in will be easier...not easy, but not as hard as it is now.

Thanks for telling me about HMO's....no idea where to begin - I am so overwhelmed ...no idea where to turn for help.:confused3

Christine both Ddil's and Bob are on anti-depressions. Ddil #1 got rid of just about everything that could remind her of Jason, out of site, out of mind?

Ddil# 2 takes my son (in his box) with her everywhere to MA when she visits her side of the family, on a weekend drive to NH to visit one of their favorite spots. :confused3. They both are seeing someone in order to "cope"

I would rather do it my way, what gets me is they both have family, Mothers, siblings, nieces, nephews etc. Even Bob has his Mother still. Thank goodness I have Bella and my wonderful friends here on the DIS

By the way the flowers are still lovely as the day they arrived and had it not been for you and Janet, no one remembered me this year. So of course I am a bit depressed this week, stupid Dr!

sjs, my heart breaks reading about your doctor's visit and all you are going through. No one should tell you how to grieve, or try to force you to "cope". I can't even begin to imagine how you get out of bed each day and move forward. I admire you so much. You and Minnie&Nana have lost children, something that is unfathomable. You two are amazing women and know that your friends on the DIS would do anything, for either of you to help. M&N is the only one of us who can speak to how you feel, but please know if there is anything we can ever do, please, please let us. You are loved :grouphug:

As you know I am deep in a hole with this cancer. It's a very different set of emotions that I deal with, but they can be intense. I know when I am down coming on the DIS, reading about WDW, thinking not of my illness but rather of happy times I feel better. I hope the DIS can do that for you also. Does it change things, no, but it can give some relief from overwhelming emotion.
