Hello, RCers!

First, just wanted to send hugs to sjs and Minnie.

And GG, so sorry to hear about your daughter - relieved to know that it's not your daughter that you visit in SoCal, but really so sad to hear about this. Hope you're either in SoCal with your daughter or keeping busy at home.

OT comment for GG: We're contemplating a more extended stay in Newport next year. I used to stay two weeks out of every summer growing up and want to get back to that. We'll have plenty of time for Catalina and DL without sacrificing beach time. DL is going to be a REAL RC dilemma. I love GCH and it's my husband's favorite Disney resort of all time, but I'm really wanting to try PPH (so does middle DS) or DLH (so does oldest DS.) What to do? Plenty of time to decide (and change.)

Padawans, your report is SO helpful! I've been trying to decide whether to stay CL at Poly in January, but I think I'll just let you and Luv make that decision for me! I'm starting to waiver on our multi-split and leaning towards 1/2 Poly and 1/2 BC, but the boys are strong on the 6 resorts/6 nights. We won't be solid on the Epcot resort half for a long time, I think.

Pas, I went back a few pages and just can't keep up! I think I need to go back again!

I've really been focused on our Wonder to Alaska planning recently - less than two weeks away from on-line check-in and excursion booking (we are Silver Castaway members now!) So instead of resort changing, I'm excursion changing - always something to reconsider!

As you know I am deep in a hole with this cancer. It's a very different set of emotions that I deal with, but they can be intense. I know when I am down coming on the DIS, reading about WDW, thinking not of my illness but rather of happy times I feel better. I hope the DIS can do that for you also. Does it change things, no, but it can give some relief from overwhelming emotion.

Hugs to you too, Sarah. I mentioned earlier that my mom struggled with cancer, two surgeries, very powerful chemo, radiation, etc. and has been cancer-free for many years. Hoping that you'll be to that cancer-free point soon, too!

You should really give US a try. They have a lot of rides that are better than anything at Disney. The hotels are less expensive and nicer than most Disney deluxe resorts. The customer service is just as good if not better. The landscaping is gorgeous. The front of the line passes are :cloud9: No need to make Adr's. I would never compare Universal to a 6 flags. Uhh did I mention it's not overpriced like Disney. I love Disney, but Universal is top notch for a lot less money.

I agree wholeheartedly with PAS :thumbsup2 US is fun, fun, fun....on par if not superior at times to WDW, and I LOVE WDW....they are both amazing places and I can't see myself doing an Orlando trip without a stop at US now! I LOVE IT!!!

Coming from West coast Canada (similar plane ride to coming from California....about 7.5 hrs) I would love to do a long trip again like we did in 2009 (sept 1-12) it was such a nice trip with time for water parks and relaxation.......unfortunately, our school/work schedule only allows for 9 days this time.....I know it will go by so very fast! We only have time for 1 day each park at WDW then 3 days at Universal and 1 day at Discovery Cove....a jam packed itinerary and I'll be so sad to have our trip be over :( I think it will be at least 2-4yrs before I'll be able to get back!!! That's too long for my comfort but it is the likelihood :( I'll have to live vicariously through all of you, and may need to scope out DL in the next few yrs, even if it is just a girls only trip by myself to meet some of my friends!

I highly recommend the Poly Cl if you can live without a hot tub in January. We really enjoyed the hot tub at the BC this last trip and in Dec. We don't spend a lot of time at the parks. I like being at the pool and the hot tub is a great alternative if it's cold. On our Oct trip we had a solid day of rain. I loved sitting in the hot tub at BW that day. I would have gone nuts tied up in the room. If your not a hot tub person than Poly in January should be great. I

Thanks for encouragment on the TIW it was great. Cl was great, but I'm not sure will do it again.:confused3 I have mixed feelings about it. I started getting tired of the food after day 5, but felt obligated to eat it because I spent the money. It was in someways similar to dxdp where you start feeling obligated to eat it because you prepaid for it. I really love the breakfast buffet at captains grill. The market place has a lot of good snacks. We always have a car to pick up water and beer for dh. I prefer a couple of glasses of wine with dinner rather than before dinner so it's something I'll have to think about for next trip.

As much I love the Poly. Your YC/BC may have taken over as my favorite resort. We have kind of out grown the Mk resorts. The Poly is so full of non school age kids. My kids are very social, and had a lot more fun at YC/BC because there were more kids their age. We also just love going to epcot at night.

If we do decide to do Cl again it will be a Poly/Yc split if I don't feel spending the extra money then it will be 10 days at BC gv. I cannot stay at Poly again without cl. It was that great. Of course I have 11 months to change my mind 2000 times.

If it was up to me I would do 2 BW/2BC/2Poly or 2GF/2BC/2Poly. Maybe you can compromise and get them down to 3 resorts. Good Luck

Just to add- Cant wait to hear about your Alaska cruise. I want to go to Naussa and Castaway Cay again. I think I'm going to just book a 3 day Dream cruise whick will save 800.00 over the 4 day. I can then book the alaska cruise for 2014 while on board and get the discount. If my friends and family knew I planned things this far in advance they would think I'm nuts.

I don't do well with the time change at all. It takes me a week to adjust, and it's only 3 hours. I really like the long trips for that reason. That's also why I like to do US first. I don't have have to worry about getting up early 7am in Orlando is 4am here. The 3 nights I have been home I've in bed at 8pm and up at 3am. Eventually I'll be normal again.

Our Orlando trips will return to once a year or so. What we did this last year was fun, but the working to pay for it was not. I havent been to Dl in 3 years. I'm thinking of doing a trip. It's a lot cheaper you only need 2 or 3 days. If you do ever do a Southern California trip you can buy city passes that include DL/SW and US Hollywood. Knotts Berry Farm is also great. You will need a car, but it's a fun vacation if you want to stay closer to home.

Sarah I find the strength you show amazing. I believe it is important to have something be it a trip or just an outing to plan and look forward to. I know it helps greatly to have a distraction from the realities of daily life. There have been days that my dog is all that has kept me going, she needs me to feed and walk her.

Sheila and Christine and Sarah ….amazing, strong women, all of you

Sheila …. I don’t articulate my thoughts and feelings as clear as Christine & Sarah. Please know that we are your friends and are always here to listen, to to help you in any way. Lots of love

Sheila and Christine you are both so brave and strong. I don't know how you do it. I sometimes wish my mom could be as strong as you both are.

Sheila I'm so sorry your doctor was such a jerk. That was incredibly insensitive of them IMO. And I'm so sorry no one remembered you on Mother's Day. You are the most special kind of mom now, a mother of two angels. Please know you can email or text me anytime you need me. I will always be here for you.

Sarah you are such an incredibly brave woman. I can't even imagine how I'd feel in your position. You handle yourself with such grace and dignity. You are a true inspiration.

I have only come to know you RC ladies in a small way, but I can see there are stories here that I know nothing about, and really don't deserve to comment on. But, I am sorry for the pain you are in sjs. It sounds like you have an amazing group of friends here, and although I don't know you, you sound like a very strong woman. :flower3:

Sarah: My friend, your positive thinking is an inspiration to me.

To my RC friends ... think about you all throughout the day and it brings a smile to my face, especially needed on days I'm in a funk. I'm thankful to have all of you in my life! :grouphug:

Oh, so you have a peanut too! This will be the girls 3rd trip, but the first time that DD5 willbe able to go on most of the rides. She is sooooo excited!!!
That is an important milestone...right after crawling ;)

Hilarious! Can you imagine???
Holding on to WDW by a thread. DH talked everyone back into the Beach...so I can hold onto both ressies until next week :confused3

Pas: I like it! POR has a great feel to it--and even if you don't get to the parks (which you will, lol) it will be great. There's lots to do there, and Boatwright's was even a pretty great meal!

I wish I could hop in your suitcase!
I am almost rady to leave DH home...we will pick you up!!

Wait. :scared1: I missed the August WDW trip!!! Please remind me of the details pronto-burger!! :woohoo: You're new itinerary sounds great! So last time I checked POR RR IS at WDW, and 3 days IS a LONG time to be sooooo close to WDW parks. :rolleyes1 I am being bad. ;) But seriously, we did POR last August and spent some quality pool time. The pool was big enough and had nice amount of shaded chairs, had that swell pool bar;) and had lots of pool activites for the kiddies. I am such a softie for POR. It really is a fun and relaxing resort. :thumbsup2
I am showing your post to my DH, he said the only reason Bree wants the RR is because of mom's computer time (she told DH all the pictures of Tiana'srooms I showed her)

Aug~ DH & I couple trip to Pop :dance3:

:goodvibes Hope thingsare god in th hood today? Hope your girls are better!!!

pas, I like the new itinerary! I would have been shocked if you could go within miles of WDW and not spend at least a little time there! Plus, you need to visit our beloved GF :cloud9: with HRH. I will be curious to hear what she thinks about the construction if you two get over there this trip. AND YOU ARE NOT a bad mommy for letting HRH play hooky from group. Spending the afternoon on the swingset sounds like a much better plan to me
You know 1 night at GF......ugh, there I go again...;)

I haven't been to US since 2000. I'm fine with that. I'm not into coasters and thrill rides. I pretty much put US on a 6 Flags level. Nothing can be as good as WDW!
I felt the same way...UNTIL I stayed there....it's not Mickey, but IMO a truly wonderful vacation

You should really give US a try. They have a lot of rides that are better than anything at Disney. The hotels are less expensive and nicer than most Disney deluxe resorts. Well said :thumbsup2

pas I like the new itinerary chill time on the way down might be a good option for DH. I can almost hear your girls cries of delight when they see the royal rooms.

All went well at the Drs except she thinks I need to see someone for my Depression, if they could bring back my sons I would go as that is the only thing which would help. She dropped the subject pretty quick after I said that.
:sad2:
I can't wait!! If only they ddn't ch-ch change as much as I do :lmao:

I can't believe you were forgotton about by your DDILs this Mother's Day... well I can, people are very self centered...JMHO I am SO sorry (I would insert a hug but my smilies are 1/2 missng..WTH

It won't help, It may change again :rotfl2:

I like hearing about ALL changes....:cool2:

For the record...I hold ALL the ladies here in high regard. STRONG, caring women. Love you ALL!!

Good Morning

Thank you all for being the wonderful people you are.

I love you all And the DIS is my Happy Place because of my friends here.

pas I say drop DH off at the beach and head for the RR and WDW!

Good Morning Everyone!!

Hugs and Love to all our RC'ers--thoughts and lots of prayers are always being sent your way!!

Today I need to make a decision-- DxDDP or TIW for October :confused3 With F/W, the snack credits will help, and we are eating signature every night--but I dunno. I want to pay it off today (meaning I want to be done with it and not look back so I can focus on DL :rotfl2:).

Pas... RRs are clean, the resort is great, and you shouldn't change!! Just sayin' -- lol! I was thinking of them for October, but really want to try AoA while it's brand spanking new. It'll be interesting to see where you end up, lol.

I have an interview with Estee Lauder tomorrow. Where I am now just doesn't have their stuff together, and I'm in need of a change. In the cosmetics world, they are a powerhouse that owns Clinique and MAC, and they truly have it together. It would be great, but I will be sad leaving the company I've put a lot of years in with and love their stuff. We'll see how it goes. I was also offered management in Lancome and Chanel--but I'm not feeling it. I guess I could always keep my options open. :confused3

:joker: Hmmmm... Yesterday WDW Dining had loads of availability for our August dates. Then late last night WDW Dining did a scheduled maintenance. Now this morning not one restaurant -- MK, Epcot or DHS -- has availability on 8/19. Hmmmmmmmm. :scratchin ...UPDATE: As of late morning all is a-ok with loads of availability again. Ahhhhhhh. :goodvibes

pas130, I had yours and DD trip in my brain but without a month. Thanks for the reminder. ;)

Good luck LuvLuvLuv. :cheer2:

Happy weekend to all. :grouphug:

Goodluck on your interview...keeping your options open ALWAYS a good thing. How about comin to NJ and doing a homeconsultation! I need help. All expenses paid AND I bet it's tax deductible fo you....I am holding on to POR for as long as I can. Hoping to talk DH into it!!!

Deena Do you both partake of alcoholic beverages? If so TWI might be the better option. I do think the snack credits would save at F&W

What amazing opportunities...good for you! I am another one who needs much help in that department! :rotfl:

Good morning all :wave2:!

It's a beautiful day in NJ and it's going to be a spectacular weekend! :cool2:

pas, hold on to those WDW reservations. Right now everything seems far away, but once you get down there, see a few billboards, plant a few seeds in the kiddos minds...WDW will happen! I like you idea, leave DH at the beach with anyone who prefers that and you head off to WDW. Now then, have you started packing, or at least organizing?!!! Just remember, I can be packed and ready to go in less than a hour...we can stop and get Deena, then pick up Christine in NC :drive:! I know Janet would come, but I think she has guests for Memorial Day. SO, no worries, you can dump DH if need be and bring the rest of us...we all would be happy to babysit at WDW, right girls?!!!! :goodvibes

LubLuvLuv, good luck with your interview! Thinking good thoughts. Sometime we should talk makeup. I use a hodgepodge. Lancome, clinique and channel. I can't seem to find one brand that has everything I want!

A picture for today!
