As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

What? Trip grew? My husband locks in his dates, but I often take the kids earlier and/or leave later. My dates aren't set in stone until we board the plane. Last year, we added an extra night the day before departure (but I have an excuse - that was based on weather.) Our trip last month grew from 5 nights to 9. The Disney part of our trip next month grew from 1 night to 5. I think I do this every time.

I've thought about doing that. But I haven't brought it up because I was lucky to even get a Disney trip this year--last year he was dead set it would be at least 2 years before we went back. I managed to talk him into going back this year, but he is firm on the number of days and the budget. So there we are lol. Next time!

so close to switching to a Poly Studio…renting points for a Standard Studio will actually be slightly less than what we're paying for BWI. I am thinking of a Lake View Studio though

Hehe-Flights were so much cheaper that I got 2 extra nights more than covered! Just checked and flights dropped again if we leave on Saturday prior (leaving on a Monday) but I figure I've pushed enough. Instead I think I am taking my oldest on a Mom and daughter outing for her Spring Break.

I did, I blame DH.....it was him....we are now BC LV CL and I am getting so thrilled. I love the MK area, but it's time to try the other side of the world

That BC room might be tempting. It looks like your dates are during the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot. It's so fun, lovely gardens, the butterfly "house", yummy food booths. It probably will depend on how you feel about a bit longer ride to MK. Either way, you'll be at Disney. Happy deciding!

Texas, I'd probably jump ship for BC CL - it's not available for our dates and our boys are into the idea of going back to CR right now. But we spend a lot of time in Epcot, so that's easy for me to say. I think it's funny that Epcot is our boys' favorite park, yet they are all about the MK area resorts right now. Again, probably due to Epcot resort area burnout - we stayed there a lot for a long time!

too funny with your boys, I am hoping that Epcot area will avoid WDW burnout since I am always obsessed with MK resorts..

It is still a mess. Very cool he was there, and booked a bungalow for August!

The quiet pool construction will be pretty extensive it seems, and was a reason I was hesitant to be GV CL

It took almost 6 months....all time record! It is like 2014 all over again, except last year it was Poly Gv CL with our magical upgrade to LV VL, then WL CL held for a bit until OKW. However I think I initially booked BC SV CL first before Poly...I know Poly will be beautiful and the pool will be awesome. The Paslettes have never done SAB, and it is so unfortunate the Poly won't be done until 2016 Next year I MUST MUST MUST let DH get back to Universal lol

I just remembered that our Easter Weekend changes included BC at one point - VWL, CBR, BC, CR Garden Wing, Poly, then CR Tower. I'm still interested in changing to YC CL but our kids are excited about CR. I'll enjoy the bay view, just wishing CL at CR for that weekend was less than $244 additional per night!

Yeah I hear you on the CL $$ ours is almost $200 more (per room) for CL using the TA's agency special. However it STILL saves us over 40% so that is my justification LOL

Looks like I might be staying put...Tikiman posted today and thinks the main pool could possibly open by April 1. I'm May 3 so I'm hoping I'm in the clear. Fingers crossed his guestimate is correct and that they don't have many rainy days and delays in construction. I'm going to wait it out I think!
