AS-sports and ticket question

I have two questions about renovations at the AS-sports and a ticket question. I hope some one here may have some input.

First off we're all booked for All Star Sports for September 21st. Looking at another site I found that the food court is going to be shut down the whole time we're there. My questions is:

Has anyone stayed at a Disney Resort where the only food court/restaurant was shut down for the entire length of the stay, and was it an issue?

I would just try another All Star but we like the sport due to the first on first off bust stop at the sport. Plus they plan to shuttle people to the food courts at the other all stars during the renovation. I could see huge crowds at the other resorts due to this.

All they have left to book is the POP or a few moderates (which I've never stayed at). We've only stayed at deluxe and value resorts. I'm looking for a recommendation of a quiet moderate.

Lastly a ticket question: Found the answer on the Ticket Sticky the board knows more then the person who booked us. :)

We plan to arrive on the 21st and hit the Parks on the 22nd of September. We're going on a cruise on the 28th and get back on October 3rd, at which we plan to stay at WDW again.

What is the last day I can use a ticket (14day duration) that was first used on Sunday, September 22 is it October 5th or 6th?

The person who booked us "thought" it was the 6th. Any help would be great! Thanks for taking time to read my questions!

I have never stayed at a resort when the food court was closed. I'm going to be at Movies in early August and can/will report any effect of their food court. I speculate that most people will eat more meals inside the parks.

As to the "first bus stop" as a reason for choosing Sports, I think the bus sharing at All Stars is WAY overstated. I stay at the AS at least 2-3 times per year and I would guess that we share buses 25% of the time or less. Even when we do, I see no difference in that and a moderate with multiple stops within the resort.

With that said, here are my thoughts on the moderates.

IMHO pros and cons of each moderate:
POR- beautiful resort, decent TS, piano player, plenty of quiet pools that have deep ends, boat ride to DTD, food court w/ many varied GOOD options: can be a hike to the main building and several bus stops within the resort. (Personal note: as I am from the South, I am not wowed by the theming.)
POFQ - lovely views, small so nothing is a hike, tasty food at food court, very friendly staff, boat ride to DTD: food court has very limited seating - you may find yourself without a seat during only moderately busy times; as it is both small and very popular rooms are not always available; does not always have AP or other discounts
CBR - great theming, large rooms, QUIET inside the rooms, good centralized location, plenty of quiet pools that have deep ends: large and very spread out-can be a hike to food court; check in, etc. in different building than food court; food court is average, sit down is terrible. (Note: if you plan to use the food court and refillable mugs I would definitely pay for a preferred room.)
CSR- beautiful lake, fresher food court food, surprisingly good TS, gym facilities: big and spread out, some sections are close to half mile from main building, (Note: if you plan to use the food court and refillable mugs I would definitely pay for a preferred room.)
As always, YMMV!

WOW so fast and helpfull! I was thinking about POFQ but I've heard quite a few people from the south say it was lacking. We had an issue at the POP and got sent to the WL. Nice hotel but it looked like every hotel and sad to say Walmart we have in Colorado. (We like to stay at the cheesy resorts for the kids. California crazy is a style we don't get to see where we live). Mostly I care about noise and crowds. That's why I liked the all star sports I was lake side and heard nothing and the food court and busses were empty.

OK, that helps! Given what you care about, IF the food court being closed doesn't bother you, I would remain at Sports. If the food court is an (understandable) issue, I would switch to a different AS. For *quiet* at the AS (any AS resort) request top floor not overlooking the pool. The front desk will look at you like you are nuts as these are not the rooms most people want. I've never had an issue doing this.

And to clarify _I_ liked POFQ better than POR, for much the reasons you stated above re: WL. POR looks like every historic home and resort in The South. It IS beautiful, but I kinda wanted something new to look at popcorn:: I would not label it "lacking" in any way shape or size. POFQ was unique and I really enjoyed it. Have only been able to get a room there once, but have stayed at POR at least 4 times.

Some rooms at AS-music opened up so we moved there. :thumbsup2 There was no chance of us staying at AS-sports if we couldn't fill our resort mugs. I may have never made it to the parks alive if my wife had to go without her morning cup of coffee.

My math tells me October 5th. I'm pretty sure 14 days means 14 days for Disney on these type of tickets. Now, for their annual pass they give you 366 days as the date you activate is the day it is good through the next year (example: 7/1/2013 - 7/1/2014).

Not that it matters now that you moved, but resort mugs will be filled at the pool bar during the refurb. (atleast that was the communication from my TA). Have a great trip!
