Ok, How long is the walk from the resorts to the lobby, bus stop, pools, rest. etc. I know the one building is closer to all of these. But is it really that much of a walk from each of them?
I am a walker so can someone give me a detail of the distance of walking?

I stayed there about 9 years ago, I don't remember the exact building but it was not a bldg. close to the lobby/food court. Anyway the walk is not that bad, the bus p/u was in front of the lobby bldg. The only problem I had was in bad weather walking to the bus, food court, etc. My children were also toddlers at the time and it was much harder on them then me.

All Star Music Resort Map We stayed in Calypso #10 a couple times, before it was considered preferred. That was a great location! We have also stayed in Broadway #7. It was a LONG walk to the foodcourt/buses. I hated it. If I was going to stay at ASMU again I would request one of the Jazz buildings (only because I wouldn't want to pay more for Calypso). IMHO, ASMU has the worst building layout of all the values.

Jazz is the closest to the food court without paying for preferred, but i like Broadway which is the next set of buildings beyond Jazz. I think it's got great themeing and isn't really that far from the main building. It's also closer to the quiet pool and the parking lot if you have a car.

HTH!!! :teeth:

Just returned from a weeks vacation - we stayed at Broadway and the walk was not that bad. What I wasn't prepared for was the wait at the registration desk. When we arrived, the line was at the door to get in. It took us approximately 50 minutes to get through. It seemed like there were not many CMs behind the desk, and many guests either had questions or complicated arrangements. I have never had this happen, and we've stayed here before, in addition to several other resorts. Just sharing our experience!

I've stayed at all three- and got one of the back buildings (I think it was Broadway?) at ASMu and it seemed like quite a trek to the front/buses/etc. I think if you look at the layouts of all 3- ASMu is the one that is "long" while the other two are sorta in a circle layout... so those buildings aren't that far out but if you are at the end of the long part of ASMu it can be quite a walk... I'm glad I did ASMu on solo trips. LOL I can hear it now with my youngest (my legs are tired). LOL

I would agree with the comment that ASMu has the worst layout compared to the other AS resorts.

We stayed last April in Music and was at the back bldg . "Rockin" alot had said it was far from everything but I myself dont mind walking and I dont think it was far. It is just like going store to store in a Mall. I love Rockin since it was quiet and close to parking lot. We did take the bus and also some times drove. Hope this Help. :teeth:

Thanks everyone! I just heard horrible things today and then I came on her and read a bit and was scared. I wanted to stay in the all stars adn a friedn of mine said she had the worst time there, and the walk was awful to the lobby and pool. She stayed at movies.
We wont be having a car this time as it is a DISNEY ONLY trip. So I got a bit scared.

ASMu has an interior courtyard walk that goes up to the front. The longest you will have to walk from the farthest building excluding the stairs and negotiating your exit from the buildings seems like about 150 yards at the most, maybe a little less. That is one and a half football fields tops. Not too bad if walking is not a problem. The Jazz building is very convenient and we stayed there the last time we went with the All Stars. That worked out great. If you are worried about the walk I would ask for that building.
