I can't pass up the $55 a night as ASSp or ASMu this fall! Since we stayed at ASSp last fall, I made a November reservation at ASMu for 4 rooms for a Mommy & Me trip of 4 moms & 4 children...anyway...I've read some comments & trip reviews that said ASMu hosts a lot of bands that perform in the parks & that the large groups of teens are often loud & unruly at the resort. Has anyone experienced this? I may be heading back to ASSp again which would be fine, the kids absolutely love that resort!

I have stayed at ASMu the last week of September and the last week of October. I have never experienced this as a problem and no one I know personally has ever complained of this to me. Although, I have come across the same info on the Boards. Maybe I have been lucky and just missed out on these crowds. Have fun!!!!:D

We will be staying at ASMU in early November! We've stayed there one other time...about six years ago, and had no problems with groups of band people...as a matter of fact...we didn't see ANY band people, well, there may have been band people there, they just weren't playing any songs!:D Seriously, if we ran into loud groups, I wouldn't be staying there again! Don't worry, have fun!:D

Yes, I've stayed at ASMusic and when I was there, there were definitely loud, unruly teens with "un-Disney" language. The band that performed in MK, however, was staying at ASSports (DS would say that bands aren't in that "loud, unruly" category, not that he's prejudiced). Anyways, that's why this year, in looking for a cheap place to stay for 1 night at AS before I go to BCV, I won't go back to ASMusic. If I can't get ASSports, I'll pay the extra $15 (that's what I've got with DC) to stay at ASMovies.

I stayed there last year from 11/5 - 11/12 and loved it!! Did not see any groups of kids. ASmu is a lot nicer than ASsp! There is a pretty fountain in the courtyard between buildings - really nice. I have stayed at all of the all stars and like ASmu and ASmo the best!! Don't worry - you will have a great time!!!

We stayed at the Music in July,1999 and didn't see any band or vulgar people.

Same thing for July,2000 at the Movies. No one who was loud or rude at all.

As someone reminded me, I did go while schools were out (very beginning of January). That could have been the reason why my experience wasn't good. I can just picture groups of kids sitting around the college dorm saying "What can we do during vacation? I know-let's go to Disney World! Now where's the cheapest place to stay so we can afford it!"

I'm glad I posted this question! I know there's no guarantee that any resort will be quiet & peaceful, I was just looking for some reassurance that I made the right choice of Music over Sports. Any comments as to which building is most convenient to the food court, buses & laundry (but not right by the main pool)? I was thinking Jazz since that seems to be near the Piano Pool which I read somewhere is smaller but less crowded than the mail pool.

Thanks to everyone for the comments!

We stayed at ASMusic last October and had no problems. Stayed in the Country Music section (in the back) and fell in love with AllStars (we're staying at Movies this Thursday).

The only noise came from the pool area and the Food Court, but you get that at them all.

Hope you enjoy your stay!!

;)

The only reports of loud groups of kids at AS that I have heard about are from sports/cheering/band groups at ASsp. There are more open areas there where they can practice.

There is a small playground behind Jazz #9 i believe. It was never loud though.

I have stayed at All Star Music and loved it. Actually there were more kids when we stayed at All Star Movies. Anyway we are staying at All Star Music again in August.

Have Fun:D

I, too, had heard the warnings about the hordes of teenaged girls at the AllStars. However, when A/P rates of $49 came out in January and airfare had dipped to $99 RT from Boston, my family took a chance on ASMu and were pleasantly surprised! Yes, the dance teams, and cheerleading squads were all there but they were not unruly. In fact, my daughter enjoyed watching them practice. The pools were filled with children, not teenagers, which I would have preferred over un-potty-trained kids in little swimmers! The lifeguards take their jobs seriously so unruliness would not be permitted.

Since a resort is just a pit-stop between parks, for us, I cannot justify spending more for a moderate. ASMu has a better food court than PORFQ, IMHO, plus you can visit the other AllStars if you want variety. The bus service is excellent and I have heard from others that it is the best of any resort. I recently cancelled ressies at PR and AKL because the $700 I saved by spending all 10 nites of my upcoming trip in November at the AllStars will pay for a second trip (room only) in 2003.

We stayed in Broadway which is a pleasant walk to the Food Court, esp. through the rose garden/courtyard. Country Fair is also reported to be quiet. I would not personally book a preferred building because it means its closer to the action and the noise.

We were at the Broadway section last October for 2 weeks and did not have a problem w/ noise. I will tell you that we have reservation in Nov/Dec this year and I am going to bring a white noise machine to drown out the normal sounds. I turned on the bathroom fan for the max of 30 mins, I think, and that helped a lot.
We have stayed at the Values a few times and always had a great experience, and I am very hard to please if something isn't right.
The only really irritating thing I encountered could have happened at any resort and that is people outside their non-smoking buildings smoking. I have asthma and I think it is extremely rude to smoke where people who chose a non-smoking building have to walk right by.

My husband had the same complaint, M&M's Mom, since he is allergic to smoke. We would come back to our room and find people sitting on the concrete outside their rooms, smoking. It sometimes drifted into our room and we often had to walk through it to get to our rooms. DH never complained to the CMs but it might not have made any difference. Anyone try reporting it?

I have stayed at both ASSp and ASMu and I actually preferred ASSp. I thought that the buildings were less spread out and I liked the pools, icons and food court better.

I have stayed there plenty of times and the only loud noise I ever got was a group of Brazilian kids in the pool screaming their heads off till midnight, solution?? get a room away from the pool, that means facing the courtyard, it didn't matter to us if it was far from the foodcourt, it was actually a nice walk for us and we enjoyed seeing the landscaping!
And no , no bands ever I saw!
