As a general "rule of thumb"....

how early should we find seating for the parade, fireworks, and Fantasmic? We will be at DLR in June. TIA!

It really depends. What time of year (OK, June)? What day of the week? Is it a week where the shows are very day or only on weekends? Are there two Fantasmic shows that night? If so, which one will you attend? Are there two parades that day? If so, which one will you attend? How young are your children and how long can they sit and wait?

Without knowing anything more than what you said, I would say:

POD - at least 30 minutes early
Remember Dreams Come True - at least 45 minutes early (I would do 60 minutes to be safe)
Fantasmic 1st show - 90 minutes early
Fantasmic 2nd show - 30-40 minutes early

We are going June 12-15th. I am hoping the shows will show more often than just Friday. Otherwise we will watch Fireworks then Fantasmic with the afternoon parade on the alternate day (middle day is being spent at DCA). My DDs are 4 1/2 and will be 22 months.

After they post the entertainment schedule for the week - and you have decided when you are going to do what, then revive this thread and we can tell you a little better how early to get there. For now, use my above recommendations as a starting point. Also, if you have options on when to see the fireworks, then consider my advice here: "HydroGuy's Fireworks Rule" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1199851

Fantasmic will only be going on the 15th. So that depends on your schedule.

Fireworks: Will be every night

Parade: 2 every day.

The schedule is up. for your trip. Just thought I would let you know since that is when our trip is maybe we will see you there. Hope you have a great trip.

Sure enough, there it is. I checked June yesterday and it was not up, so they must have put it up today.

So, my recommendation is to see the fireworks as early in the week as possible. I am not sure what the fireworks crowd will be like. In summer 2005 you needed to arrive to the hub 60 minutes early to get a decent spot on a weekday night. In summer 2006, 30 minutes early on a weekday night was fine. You can probably get away with 30 minutes, but if you want a decent spot you should plan to get there 60 minutes early.

With regard to the parade, I would see that mid-week as well. You should be able to get a spot to either one 30 minutes ahead of time, but you may have to hunt a little for a spot.

You will have to hit Fantasmic on your last night. If you need to go to the first one at 9PM because your kids are so young, then you go at least 90 minutes early. If you want to get a good spot down near the water, get there 2 hours early. My two cents.

Oh wow! I'm so glad the schedule is up! Maybe b/c its the 15th?! I'm excited Fantasmic will be running AND the Electric Parade at DCA! So I will follow all of HydroGuy's rules in previous post, (Thanks so much!) and what do you suggest for the Electric parade?
