Well I'm going to Aruba on my spring break with my fiance, and I was wondering how many of you have been there, and honestly how is the nightlife there for 20-something year olds? We will be spending a week there at the Hyatt Regency right on the beach which was recommended to me by a close friend who had stayed there in the past. We're covered with the daytime, because we're both beach bums and sports nuts, so the jetskiing, the parasailing, and the scuba will be more than enough to keep us occupied. Gambling isn't for us, but good music and dancing is as long as it's good company. Any suggestions on where to look for information? All my searches I've come up with very little information, I swear! :surfweb:

We have been and LOVED it.
I can't help with your nightlife question because I was in mid 30s with young kids when I went. I didn't stay out late and go to clubs, etc. We stayed at the Renaissance.
However, I wanted to jump in and say be sure to visit the natural bridge (http://www.aruba.com/pages/naturalbridge.htm) and natural pool (http://www.aruba.com/pages/naturalpool.htm). They were great! You will need a 4x4 to get to the natural pool but it is worth it!!!!!!! Rent a jeep for the day and tour the island.

Oh no, I just noticed that the web link I gave you said the natural bridge is gone; it fell!!!!!!!! :sad1:
Well, at least you can look at the picture on the link.

Thanks! Is hiking there possible? This really does sound like a great idea!

I really cannot wait, heading out there on March 9th!

Any other suggestions other than nightlife activities are welcome too!

There really aren't many areas for hiking. Yes, there is a climb to the natural pool, and you could hike that I guess. There are also horseback riding groups that travel to the spot.

Here is a picture of my two DDs and me at the natural bridge.

We had just gotten the digital camera and DH was still figuring out how to use/work it. I know the photo is blurry. Sorry.

The Hyatt is just great but has been under MAJOR refurbishing so you might want to check before you go. They had half of it pulled apart...

OMG! I did not hear about the bridge. We were just there a couple of years ago and have pictures in front of it.
Hope no one was around when it fell.:scared1:

I did, they finnished the lobby and are now moving to some of the rooms, so most of the refurbishment will be out of sight. My friend who was there literally went in December, and he said most of the refurbishment now is just in the rooms and they were almost done with the lobby then. Thursday night's stay is free though due to the refurbishment!

I went in October and we went out to dinner everynight, but not so much to bar/clubs.

I know there's a Carlos N' Charlie's in Orjanstad - but we didn't make it there. We did go to Iguana Joe's and a few restaurants along the Palm Beach hotel area.

We rented a car and found it was one of the best parts of the trip!

Honestly, though, after a day on the beach and water-sports, we felt too tired after dinner to muster up the engery for much else.

FYI - we are 28 yrs old and live in NYC, so we do normally go out at night quite a bit.
