I have a PS for dinner at Artist Point on my upcoming trip. I'm looking at the menu and it doesn't seem to have a very big selection. I'm worried about my DD (13). She may not find anything she likes. Also, it looks a bit expensive. I don't mind paying for a good meal, but can anyone tell me if it is worth it. I'm having my doubts about it now. :flower:

I've eaten there several times and the food was excellent. One time I went with a party of 12, and everyone loved their meals. IMO, its one of the better restaurants on WDW property, and worth the price.

You wont go wrong at Artist Pointe- one of my favorites- they specialize in food from the Northwest like fresh river salmon when its in season and Buffalo steak- but there other selections are just as good. It is also a beautiful restaurant with great views. Ask the help to point our the hidden mickeys for your daughter.

AP is one of my favorite places. But you may be correct about your daughter. Why not show her the menu and see if she thinks she'd like anything on it (or would be willing to try something that is "different"). If she's game, then go for it. If not, wait until a later trip.

I have a 13 y.o. who is VERY picky. Artist Point is her favorite WDW restaurant. She still orders the salmon from the children's menu - it's the same wonderful dish as the adult menu, but with "plainer" sides, like mashed potatoes & steamed veggies. Even though she's now a teen there is still a lot of "kid" in her & she always orders the Mickey puzzle dessert. Last week she got adventuresome & tried the mushroom soup -she love it. AP is definitely worth it for our family!

Thanks everyone for the advice. I will have to go over the menu and make sure we'll all find something we like. I hadn't thought of the children's menu for DD as she's a teen now, but that may work! :flower:

When we ate there on our last trip, our son wanted pizza, even though it wasn't on the menu. They went and got it any way.....I guess it was from Roaring Forks or somewhere....

I have eaten at AP twice and won't be back. The food was so-so (and I *adore* salmon) and the service was even worse.

RobinB, I am very sorry to hear that your experiences have been bad. I have been to AP twice, I would have to say it was definitely one of my favorites. I haven't been in about two years, though. When I was there, they had a Free Range Chicken breast that was outstanding. I would suggest that for anyone. It was fairly simple but excellent. If they still have that, i would suggest that for your daughter.

Thanks :). There are plenty of other WDW Resort restaurants for me to go to!

DNeph (7) and I just enjoyed a wonderful meal at AP last Saturday. I wanted to have at least one really good meal during our trip. We had a great window seat, excellent service, and some of the best salmon I have ever tasted. It was a bit pricey (salmon dinner was $40.) but worth every penny to me. We sat over our meal for 2 hours, loving every minute of it. DNeph had the broiled chicken and requested fries instead of mashed potatoes. He loved the white chocolate Mickey puzzle for dessert - the berry cobbler was amazing - all of my favorite berries in one dessert !! I can't wait to take DH for dinner on our next trip - he'll just love this restaurant! :smooth:

AP is one of our favorite restaurants. Well worth it, IMHO. WE have been roughly a dozen times since it opened & never had a negative experience....
