I know this question has probably been ask so many times before, but what can you tell me about Artis Point. We have been wanting to go there for a long time and just have not done it yet. We are seriously thinking about doing it on our December trip and would love to hear your opinions. Thanks so much in advance.

Artist Point is one of my favorite restaurants. Period. Both on and off property. I love the atmosphere and the theming.

I've never had a bad meal there. Everyone I've ever taken there has loved it. In fact, a friend who frequently travels to Orlando on business will take clients there.

Now I am a "WL person", so keep that in mind. Unfortunately, there's always someone who ends up with bad service, or a bad meal, but we all risk that at any restaurant.

I think you owe it to yourself to try it, as I would recommend all the signature restaurants. You will eventually end up with a group of favorites, but until you at least try a good number of them, how can you really know?

Artist Point is great! Their signature dish is salmon that the server bring out on cedar plank and plates it up right at your table. They also have a beef tenderloin that melts in your mouth and for the adventurous person they also have buffalo sirloin, wild boar, and venison pot stickers. If you enjoy wine they have a great wine selection all from the pacific northwest. One more thing, they have a mushroom soup to die for. I love Artist Point. Service has always been great too. :yay:

The food and service are good, the restaurant is quiet for a Disney restaurant. The only criticism I have is the decor; I'm not a fan of the early cabin decor.

While I certainly respect your opinion and personal tastes, I think you mis-portray Artist Point.

I don't think early cabin decor is the proper description for Artist Point, let alone Wilderness Lodge. The inspiration for the Lodge itself is Yosemite.

Artist Point is a modern interpretation on that theme. I wouldn't say there is anything rustic about it.

Artist Point is my favorite signature. The beef tenderloin is excellent! I agree with the pp - it's quieter than most other WDW restaurants I've been to. Definately worth the trip.

Thank you everyone for all your opinions and thoughts on Artist Point. You have made me even more anxious to go there. my mouth is just watering thinking about the Salmon and the Beff Tenderloin. That will be a hard decision. Oh well, that will always give us an excuse to go back, right. Thank you all again, and I am looking so forward to going there.

And if you like mushroom soup, the Artist Point version is the best.

I love soup and get it a lot of times as my appy. I will definately try it.

seems to be a love it or don't like it proposition. I've seen several comments about the room being large and impersonal. As a fan of the dining room at the Awahnee Hotel in Yosemite I couldn't disagree more. The Wilderness Lodge is supposed to represent the style of the Western national park lodges. AP is a very solid representation of the dining rooms in those lodges.

AP is one of the quieter restaurants at Disney and I tend to recommend it for romantic outings for this reason. The food and service have always been good when I have eaten there.

It can be a bit out of the way, but if you're looking to get away for a special meal that should be a draw.

I tried it last trip and I can't wait to go back in October. We dined early so it was light out and the room is all windows so it was gorgeous. We had the filet and the buffalo....after that buffalo I didn't want to finish my filet. It was THAT good!

I think the other posters have said plenty, but if you are interested, here is my review with pictures from August 2008.
